Shameless casino addict Paula Bonfilio, ironically still a school guidance counselor, was murdered in the street, presumably by a bookie. Her small daughter now has nobody but her son, model student Scott, whose college fund she stole to gamble away, but the team finds more anomalies. Brett Davidson's bride jumped to her death from their luxury apartment's balcony for no apparent reason. A hypnotherapist links the case with a number of bizarre casino robberies. Did You Know?

When Tony Thorpe was asked about his having been crippled in prison, he tells the police that he had been attacked, but that he was "too tough to die." The reason he was in prison was because he had raped a woman eight years ago and left her in a coma all these years. This goes back to a case from Season 1 CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Too Tough to Die (2001). See more »

Amazing episode
11 November 2008 | by See all my reviews

This was an amazing episode on so many levels.

The suicide of one woman was unexplained until they happened to talk to another, who was also a bank teller, and discovered a link that was just incredible. I am not sure this is possible, but it made for a compelling and funny story.

The husband who pulled his wife's tubes after eight years of suffering was touching, even as it mirrored the relationship of Grissom and Sidle, and the need that Grissom had for Sidle to break the relationship.

But, the most amazing story was the woman who was murdered in an alley, and her "son." When this all came out, it was a shocker that was not to be believed and an outstanding piece of creativity on the part of the writers.
