Pretty Little Liars” star Tyler Blackburn, “Glee’s” Jenna Ushkowitz, Audra McDonald, Martha Plimpton, T.R. Knight and Rumer Willis are starring in the movie adaptation of the musical “Hello Again.”

Nolan Gerard Funk, Sam Underwood and Al Calderon are also starring in the movie, which has begun shooting in New York City.

The movie is based on Michael John Lachiusa’s chamber musical of the same name, originally produced by Lincoln Center Theatre in 1994 and nominated for eight Drama Desks. “Hello Again” is inspired by Arthur Schnitzler’s 1897 play “La Ronde: Hello Again” and follows 10 lost souls who skip across 10 periods in New York City history, slipping in and out of one another’s arms and beds.

The movie is directed by Tom Gustafson (“Mariachi Gringo”) from a screenplay by Cory Krueckeberg with music and lyrics by Michael John Lachiusa.

Mexico: Up Next! Ramiro Ruiz

12 November 2015 6:33 AM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Peliculas de Leyenda producer Ramiro Ruiz began his storied career as a line producer on Sam Mendes’ “Jarhead” and as a production manager for David Riker’s “The Girl” and Mexican-u.S. co-production “Mariachi Gringo” by Tom Gustafson. They were demanding shoots where he learned the nitty gritty of filmmaking.

“I think every producer should learn how to line produce and manage a production; get into the trenches, so to speak,” he says.

Majoring in anthropology has also served him well. “I’ve always joked to my students that one has to be an anthropologist, sociologist and psychologist to work on a set,” says Ruiz, who teaches production between shoots at the Universidad de la Comunicacion in Mexico City and has worked on commercials on occasion.

He co-produced Lourdes Grobet’s much-lauded docu “Bering,” and a host of notable pics and docus until he founded his shingle Leyenda in January »
