Matchmaker Review
10 November 2008 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I consider myself lucky to have seen this movie at its premiere. It's good to see feature films created in Kansas City with a mix of Hollywood and local actors. Congratulations to Katherine McNamara on her first film! Her portrayal of Mary was professional, uplifting, and original. She was truly the spirit of the film. I couldn't help but smile whenever she did. I was, of course, impressed with Mr. Fahey's understated and organic performance. He leant his considerable depth to every scene he was in. Ms. Wallace felt like everyone's aunt, not just Mary's. The scene when she laughs while Mr. Fahey is asking her out was priceless. Mr. Brief delivered a sensitive and multi-faceted performance. I hope to see his work in other pieces very soon. Ms. Klaus and Mr. Daugharthy were great together. And Ms. Hyer--what can I say? She was one stone cold professional woman until the end of the film. It was very satisfying to see her character transform at the end of the film. I hope to see much more from this cast and staff. Well done!
