Storyline
In the U.S., the standard practice is to prosecute American juvenile prostitutes as criminal sex workers and lock them up with no counseling or assistance when they get out to help them build new lives and stay off the street. There are no comprehensive laws, federal or state, protecting these children - arguably the victims of statutory rape- and too few facilities to offer them the help they need. Lisa Ling investigates this issue, speaking with current and former juvenile prostitutes, riding along with law enforcement officers trying to stop the pimps, and going behind the scenes at innovative programs offering solutions to give these young girls a better life.
