Heavy handed

Warning: Spoilers
THE SHEPHERD is another heavy-handed slice of Christian propaganda from director Donald W. Thompson; imagine TOP GUN but with preaching instead of aerial combat and you'll be there. This is a cheap and static production with bare minimum plotting and the surprise addition of B-movie starlet Dee Wallace-Stone to the cast. The film doesn't flow as nicely as some of the director's other work I've seen, and the sermonising does get a bit much as it goes on.

An oldie but a goodie!

Hard to compare to today's standards of production etc. but story is thought provoking and challenging for Christians. "Greater love bath no man than this, that he lay down his life for a friend".
