Back in the 80s and 90s, Rita Rudner was a common sight on television. However, I've noticed in recent years that she's rarely on TV any more. Apparently she has NOT fallen off the edge of the world, but has been headlining in Las Vegas for some time so that she can settle down and have a family. When I heard this I was worried--sometimes after a few years stand-up comedians lose their edge and just aren't funny any more. This has happened with several great comedians, though I don't want to be catty and name them. Fortunately, when I watched Ms. Rudner on this DVD, she sounded exactly like she always did--very, very funny and insightful. I don't think the years have diminished her act one bit and it's also amazing how incredibly youthful and beautiful she now looks (don't tell my wife or she'll kill me for saying that). So if you want a good laugh AND are looking for a comedian that doesn't use smut or drugs as major portions of their act, look no further--this lady still knows how to make you laugh.
FYI--She also has a book out now and I just read it. Again, it's as good as anything I've seen her write.
