New Trailer and Poster for 21 Jump Street

19 December 2011 11:49 AM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

A new trailer and poster have debuted for 21 Jump Street. The trailer only has a small amount of new footage from the last trailer we saw, but the movie still looks great. I was a huge fan of directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and they seem to have brought their oddball sense of humor to Jump Street. Stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum look to be genuinely funny, and the film continues to be high on my most anticipated list for 2012. Hit the jump to check out the trailer and poster. The film also stars Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Dave Franco, Nick Offerman, and Rob Riggle. 21 Jump Street opens March 16th, 2012. Here’s the official synopsis for 21 Jump Street: Schmidt and Jenko are more than ready to leave their adolescent problems behind. Joining the police force and the secret Jump Street unit, »

21 Jump St Red Band Trailer Arrives

2 November 2011 1:49 PM, PDT | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

From the outset, 21 Jump Street seemed like an odd proposition. A film based on an ‘80s TV show, given an action comedy overhaul by Jonah Hill and Scott Pilgrim co-writer Michael Bacall? Which stars Hill and Channing Tatum (who thus far has had few opportunities to really show comic chops) as mismatched buddy cops going undercover at a local high school? But with the arrival of the film’s first trailer, a long, Red Band affair full of swearing, it actually looks like it could be one of the more fun films to arrive in 2012. Take a look at the promo below. While we’re slightly concerned at how long this thing is (it clocks in at more than three minutes), it’s definitely got the comedy goods. As directed by Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs' Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Hill and Channing make an appealing pair as Schmidt and Jenko, »

Channing Tatum To Get Murdered By Steve Carell In Bennett Miller's 'Foxcatcher'

18 October 2011 6:26 PM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

We've said it before, and we'll say it again--Channing Tatum is nothing if not determined. The actor who launched to fame with "Step Up" has eagerly taken on any role he can just to work with a top shelf and director and the names he's amassed time with on set--Kimberly Peirce, Michael Mann, Ron Howard, Kevin Macdonald, Steven Soderbergh (x2)--speaks for itself. As a producer, he's throwing his weight around on upcoming films like "Ten Year," "21 Jump Street" and "Magic Mike," but he's continuing to seek out opportunities to grow as actor. Granted, his physique doesn't make him the… »

Johnny Depp set for uncredited cameo in '21 Jump Street'

25 April 2011 11:51 AM, PDT | EW - Inside Movies | See recent EW.com - Inside Movies news »

For more than a year now, rumors have been floating that Johnny Depp — who got his start as a teen hunk on the ’80s undercover-cops-in-high-school series 21 Jump Street — might jump into Sony’s big-screen reboot for some kind of cameo. Well, after seemingly endless speculation, a source close to the production now tells EW that a small, uncredited Depp cameo does indeed look likely to happen. No details are available yet on what character Depp might play in the film, which begins shooting this month with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum in the lead roles. But, in an interview with EW last year, »

Ice Cube In Talks For 21 Jump Street

15 February 2011 3:41 PM, PST | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

Jonah Hill and directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are still busy tracking down actors to work on 21 Jump Street, the big screen version of the ‘80s cop show that helped kick off Johnny Depp’s career. They have Channing Tatum aboard to partner up with Hill. And now they’ve zeroed in on someone to play the chief: Ice Cube.According to Deadline, Cube is now negotiating to take on the role of the captain, played in the original series by Steven Williams (best known for his later work as Mr X on The X-Files and then for his TV directing gigs) and going by the name of Adam Fuller. It’s not known whether the name will stick, though. At the very least, if he demands someone’s badge, you know they wouldn’t argue. The actual plot for the film version – which kicks off shooting in April – has yet to leak out, »

15 February 2011 3:34 PM, PST | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

Looks like Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are getting an actor/musician with some serious street cred to join them on "21 Jump Street." Deadline reports that Ice Cube is in negotiations to join the film, though his role is not yet specified. The R-rated adaptation features a script by "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" writer Michael Bacall who had previously and excitingly described the pic as “John Hughes meets ‘Bad Boys,’” with “Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs” directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord at the helm for the story of “a couple of dudes who haven’t quite worked out… »
