Sorority Row is a remake of The House on Sorority Row (1983). The script for The House on Sorority Row was written by Mark Rosman (who also directed the movie) and screenwriter Bobby Fine. Their script was re-adapted for Sorority Row by screenwriters Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger.

Nine victims: (1) Megan Blaire (Audrina Patridge) is the first victim, accidentally killed during the prank. Stabbed by a tire iron through her chest. Then the corpse falls to a mineshaft. The sorority sisters hid her body and covered up her death. Now, eight months later, someone is stalking the five of them. (2) Dr. Rosenberg (Ken Bolden): stabbed in the face by modified tire iron. (3) Charlene "Chugs" Bradley (Margo Harshman): has her champagne bottle forced down her throat then her throat is slashed. (4) Joanna (Nikki Moore): stabbed in the head by tire iron, impaled her chin. (5) Mickey Donaldson (Maxx Hennard): neck slit. (6) Claire Wen (Jamie Chung): shot in the mouth with a flare gun. (7) Mrs. Crenshaw (Carrie Fisher): is impaled on the tire iron. (8) Kyle Tyson (Matt Lanter): head stabbed by an axe. (9) Jessica Pierson (Leah Pipes): mouth stabbed by a tire iron.

Four survivors: (1) Cassidy Tappan (Briana Evigan), (2) Ellie Morris (Rumer Willis), (3) Maggie Blaire (Caroline D'Amore): Megan's sister, and (4) Garrett Bradley (Matt O'Leary) Chugs's brother: left for dead after suicide attempt, returns at the end.

The killer: Andy Richards (Julian Morris) : Cassidy's boyfriend who wanted to have a perfect future with her, but that dream was threatened by Megan's death and he was worried that the other girls in the sorority would tell someone, so he had to kill them.
