Trivia

The building that is used as a long-shot backdrop in the middle of this episode (just before they descend into an underground laboratory) is actually the Milwaukee Art Museum and War Memorial designed by Eero Saarinen. The picture is taken looking north from the pedestrian bridge that connects Wisconsin Ave. to the new Calatrava Wing of the Art Museum (the white extension that can just be seen on the right of the shot). Goofs

When Carter is driving to the lab at the end his car is battered by pine cones which, due to artificial gravity fluctuations "probably weigh as much as anvils". Neither Carter nor his car seem to show any effects of the heightened gravity. However, just before Carter starts driving, Henry is shown closing the hood of the vehicle saying he's wired in a tensor generator to create a repulsive field to protect against the gravity fields. Carter gets put in Time-Out, sorta...

Well, Carter helps the nice Little old (107) "lab assistant" and General Irritating shows his appreciation by giving him the boot. But wait, the title is "Welcome BACK, Carter" (a nod to the sitcom "Welcome Back Kotter") so he's not R-E-E-L-Y fired. We meet robot-cop "Sheriff Andy", another nod to a popular sitcom who is Jack's replacement. But who could replace Jack? Andy gets sliced and diced several times and the poor old Jeep gets squashed again. If you haven't picked up on it by now, trashing the Jeep is a running gag throughout the series. If you look closely during one of the Café Diem scenes, you can see Zoe making out with her boyfriend behind Jack's back...get the symbolism??? All in all, this was one of the most disjointed episodes to date. It was very confusing and rambled. Of course the actor with top billing isn't going to be written out of the show. Come on!
