One night in Los Angeles, Adrian Grenier, star of the HBO series "Entourage," encountered 14-year-old paparazzo Austin Visschedyk. Astounded and inspired by the fast-talking, faster-snapping teen, Grenier decided to turn the cameras on Visschedyk in an effort to better understand this unique teenagerʼs world and gain insight into what motivates people to stalk the famous. Written by HBO Publicity
I began photographing celebrities on the red carpet when I was 17 years old in 1999. Back then, I was the youngest and the only one with a digital camera (because I borrowed my dad's). In the documentary, it showed the amount of attention that Austin, the teenage papparazo, was getting and I could definitely relate to him.
Teenage Papparazo is a riveting glimpse of how fame itself is an industry through the perspectives of celebrities themselves, the paparazzi and an even more unique view--the teenage papparazo. As a kid, he must learn how to deal with real grown-up situations and how to deal with fame. He grows up fast and in some ways becomes tainted.
Adrian Grenier is an amazing narrator and tells a story of glamour, celebrity, and how Hollywood can really take its toll on the naive. Fame is a monster...you just need to learn how to deal with it and not lose yourself.
