President Obama Reads Mean Tweets on ‘Jimmy Kimmel’

12 March 2015 9:16 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

President Obama, appearing on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Thursday, played along with the host in riffs on birthers, mean Tweets and Hillary Clinton’s e-mail address.

Making his first appearance on the show since he became president, Obama did a version of Kimmel’s segment where guests read mean Tweets about themselves (video below). According to a pool report, Obama said that the Tweets were not as mean as “what the Senate says about me.”

In joke about Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email account, Obama refused to give Kimmel her email address.

As he has done before, Obama joked about birthers, or the belief that he was born in Kenya even though the White House long ago produced a birth certificate to refute it.

When Kimmel asked Obama if he could drive, Obama responded, “I can’t drive. I mean I can, but…”

For those Parks and Rec fans paying attention, Murray's cameo has been hinted at in the past. Back in 2011, Poehler showed up on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and said she'd cast the funnyman as the mysterious mayor if he came at a good rate. "Bill Murray, if you’re listening, I will pay you $250 to do one episode of my show," she joked.

"There was no attempt really to lure him -- we just kept saying it out loud," Parks and Rec's executive producer Michael Schur told Entertainment Weekly. "Aubrey [Plaza] met him somewhere and said, 'You should »
