Meryl Streep Really, Really Loves Her American Flag Dress (and So Do These Other Stars)

27 July 2016 5:52 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Meryl Streep is one patriotic lady! The Oscar-winning actress wore Catherine Malandrino's American flag shirtdress to the 2016 Democratic National Convention Thursday night, a fitting selection given her political activities. Streep took the stage following Bill Clinton's speech in which he retold his love story with official democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, praising the could-be president for being the first woman to officially receive the nomination. "Nearly 100 years after women got the vote, you people have made history," the It's Complicated star said during her speech. "And you're going to make history again in November because Hillary Clinton will be our first woman president, »

12 April 2016 3:00 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Wolverine 3 has long been rumored to be based on the Old Man Logan Marvel comic book arc, though that has never been confirmed by anyone associated with the project. We're a little closer to knowing the truth, thanks to producer Simon Kinberg. During a recent interview with CinemaBlend, the mastermind behind 20th Century Fox's version of the McU discussed the converging timelines of the X-Men universe. And in doing so, he let it slip where Wolverine 3 actually lands in the scheme of things.

"The Wolverine movie takes place in the future."

How far into the future? We don't know. But this revelation sounds like we're getting closer to seeing Old Man Logan on the big screen. Wolverine 3 doesn't arrive in theaters for another year, and as of now, no story details have leaked. We do know that Patrick Stewart will return to reprise his role as Professor X, with many »

'Daredevil': Meet the Show's Punisher and Elektra

Jon Bernthal is walking down the streets of New York, getting ready to answer a question when a passerby suddenly stops right in front of him. "Dude!" the fan explains. "Like ... dude!" The actor politely, if somewhat rapidly replies, "Hey, how's it going, so sorry. I'm in the middle of an interview, nice to meet you." Then the guy yells, loudly enough to be heard over the sound of the midtown Manhattan traffic that's bleeding through the former Walking Dead star's cellphone line: "You're the man!" Bernthal laughs, sounding slightly embarrassed. »

Justin Theroux Wrote Zoolander 2, Plus 15 More Actors You Didn't Know Are Also Screenwriters

"That Justin Theroux guy - where do I know him from?" Depending on whom you ask, you could get a great many answers. Of course, he's the husband of Jennifer Aniston, but he's had a string of notable acting roles too. He could be that guy from The Leftovers, the actor who played the hapless director character in Mulholland Drive, Leslie Knope's short-lived boyfriend on Parks and Recreation, or even the bad guy from Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. However, Theroux is also a screenwriter, and he's credited with a handful of major films that casual movie-goers might not associate with him. »

It's May for Meryl

As Meryl Streep starts her jury duties at the Berlinale, Murtada has news about her next film.

Streep at the Berlinale Jury Press Conference

Gird your loins! There must be a rupture in the movie universe because we might not get the new Meryl Streep movie when we usually do. Since 2008's Mamma Mia, movies led by Streep have had only 2 release dates. The December prestige slot (Doubt, The Iron Lady, August Osage County, Into the Woods). Or late summer blockbuster comedy counter programming (Julie and Julia, Hope Springs, Ricki and the Flash). Plus one anomaly with the comedy It's Complicated inexplicably slotted into the December prestige date. Yes comedies get released year round, but not Meryl comedies!

2016 is changing all that. Pathe have announced a May 6 UK release of Streep's latest, Florence Foster Jenkins. Directed by Stephen Frears and also starring Hugh Grant and Rebecca Ferguson, the film is »

Supergirl episode 12 review: Bizarro

Supergirl is developing a villain as entertaining to watch as its heroes, as Bizarro proves...

This review contains spoilers.

1.12 Bizarro

Love is hard, especially when you're a superhero. You might want to date the cute new guy who happens to be your boss's long-lost son, and stay friends with the It guy who keeps moaning about how he's been 'friendzoned', but then there's also the hunky photographer who knows all of your secrets but is inconveniently dating your cousin's sister-in-law. It's complicated, and evil doppelgangers just throw yet another spanner in the works.

That's basically this episode in a nutshell, with a pretty serious storyline about Maxwell Lord basically abusing young girls until they become fractured, evil opposites of Kara aired alongside another game of musical chairs featuring Kara and her many admirers. Adam likes Kara, Winn likes Kara and James has finally admitted that he also likes Kara. »

Witness two people who need a cold shower, stat. Josh Duhamel and Malin Akerman might be portraying two people (sort of) innocently having drinks together, but their body language says so much more. Way more. In this exclusive clip from Misconduct, Duhamel's character, Ben, opens up to Akerman's character, Emily, about the state of his marriage - and it isn't good. "It's complicated," he tells her as the pair exchange coy glances. " 'I do, you do' seems to be self-explanatory to me," she replies. She then confesses that she's in a relationship of her own, although he wants to get serious and she doesn't. »

2016 Sundance Deals: The Complete List of Festival Pick-Ups

1 February 2016 11:18 AM, PST | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

One thing that became abundantly clear in the days leading up to the 2016 Sundance Film Festival was just how big of a year it was going to be for bidding wars and sales deals. It started eight days before opening night, when Netflix threw its hat into the ring first by picking up streaming rights to Sian Heder's feature debut, "Tallulah," starring Ellen Page and Allison Janney. The deal would be the first of five for the streaming giant, a second one of which, the Iranian horror film "Under the Shadow," was also acquired before the festival began. Amazon and Roadside Attractions Unite for Whit Stillman's 'Love and Friendship'

Read More:  It's Complicated: How Netflix and Amazon Add a Big Wrinkle to Sundance Deal-Making Whit Stillman's "Love and Friendship," which is easily one of the most anticipated titles at this year's Sundance Film Festival, has been picked up in a joint distribution deal between Amazon Studios and Roadside Attractions. Based on an unpublished Jane Austen story about a socially downtrodden widow who moves in with her in-laws, the period comedy reunites the director with his "Last Days of Disco" leading ladies Kate Beckinsale and Chloe Sevigny. Stephen Fry, Xavier Samuel and Emma Greenwell co-star. Under the brokered deal, Amazon will take all domestic rights and partner with Roadside Attractions for the film's theatrical distribution. The film will debut in theaters via Roadside before hitting Amazon’s streaming platform. The strategy is identical to how both companies joined forces to release Spike Lee's "Chi-Raq" last »
