This is not a direct sequel to Ghostbusters 1 and 2. This is mainly a fan film, made by fans for the fans. Though the original cast are talking up a third Ghostbusters, not knowing if they would return or have a full role in it. Although rumors spread that Seth Rogen might be in it, with Steve Carrell. Only news there is, that Columbia is in development with the script right now.

In a way, yes. There's a reference to Freddy vs Ghostbusters in this movie (Hint: Freddy's sweater and glove hanged up in the containment lab.) Although this movie only continues the story of the Denver Ghostbusters, with a original story.

And the comic is showing what happened between Freddy vs Ghostbusters and the lead-up to Return of the Ghostbusters.

J. Michael Weiss and Tim Johnson return from Freddy vs Ghostbusters (2004) as their respectful roles.

Although the original Ghostbusters aren't in this movie because this is just a fan film, so the filmmakers couldn't get the chance to contact the original cast. Although there weren't seen in this movie, one of them were mentioned. At the opening news broadcast tells that Ed Spengler (Tim Johnson) is the nephew of original Ghostbuster Egon Spengler.

In the "Ghostbusters: The Denver Chronicles" shows Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz, Egon Spengler, Janine Melnitz, and Winston Zeddmore at Eugene O'Fitzpatrick's funeral (explains his absent in this movie).

It's explained in here:

Eugene was killed in the collapse of a tomb while fighting mummies. He has a funeral at the end with his fellow friends and original Ghostbusters there.

Well it's off and on explained that this is a sequel to Freddy vs Ghostbusters, but mainly a spin-off. So no, Freddy Krueger isn't in this movie since this movie is mainly about the Denver Ghostbusters.

Freddy's glove and sweater is shown in the containment lab scene

Hank Braxtan said that this is their last movie. Not sure if he meant this is his last fan film, or not. But he further mentioned that there won't be a sequel involving the Denver Ghostbusters.

This movie doesn't have a natural rating by the MPAA, but Hank gave it a PG-13.

Hank is on the progress of making a file for us to download so we can burn our own disc of the movie without breaking any laws. Since this movie is not suppose to be sold and make money off of, because Hank doesn't have the permission to do so. It's explained on their official message board:

If you downloaded the movie, made your own DVD, and want some spiffy artwork to put in the case, here you go: (artwork by "importtuner760"). Please note that this artwork lists bonus features that are not available as part of the movie or on the movie's website and need to be found separately.

Someone mentioned on BraxtanFILM's official messageboard that Columbia Pictures do know about this movie. Other then that, I don't know any further explanation.

Yes you can. The composer, Jon Vandergriff, has made the entire score available for free download on his website in MP3 format:

Some fans have made some CD artwork, so you can have some spiffy artwork for a burned CD of the score music. Please note that there are a few bonus tracks listed in the rear art, which are not available on Mr. Vandergriff's website.
