Myers Dismisses Talk Of Wayne's World 3

13 June 2008 4:04 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Comedian Mike Myers has shot down fans' hopes for a third Wayne's World movie - just two weeks after reuniting with co-star Dana Carvey for the 2008 MTV Movie Awards.

The funny duo teamed up once more as characters Wayne and Garth for a hilarious skit at the awards show earlier this month, but Myers insists the reunion was just for old time's sake.

He says, "It's a wonderful idea and I loved doing these characters, but no."

Myers insists the awards show skit just allowed fans to get "caught up" in the nostalgia of the two hit Wayne's World films and he has no plans to follow it up with a Waynes World 3.

The original Wayne's World was released in 1992, and the sequel - Wayne's World 2 - hit cinemas in 1993. »

Latest: Hollywood director Brett Ratner is desperate to sign Robert Downey Jr. to play porn mogul Hugh Hefner in a big-screen biopic of his life - insisting he's the only man up to the job.

Last month, the Playboy boss himself gave Iron Man star Downey Jr. his seal of approval, after being impressed by his portrayal of wealthy playboy Tony Stark in the hit comic-book adaptation.

And now the movie's director Ratner has expressed his interest in working with the former hellraiser - stating they haven't approached anyone else to play the lead role.

Speaking at the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, he says, "I don't know if the script comes in and he wants to do it. but we're definitely interested in him starring in it. that's for sure.

"We want Downey. Once Downey says yes..."

Downey Jr. is said to be keen to take on the role of Hefner - as long as the script is right. »

MTV Movie Awards To Go Ahead

1 June 2008 6:06 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

The MTV Movie Awards will go ahead at California's Universal City, despite the fire that destroyed much of the nearby Universal Studios on Sunday (1Jun08).

The inferno ripped through a number of studio sets and destroyed movie and TV archives, but MTV bosses are determined the star-studded bash, hosted by Mike Myers, will take place at the Gibson Amphitheatre.

A spokesperson says, "The areas we are utilising for our production were unaffected and the 2008 MTV Movie Awards will go on as planned. We're working closely with authorities to make sure everything operates smoothly." »
