Storyline

Just when Rick has to start his bare-knuckle fight, a siren stops the fight and everyone runs. It's actually an ambulance for Viv. Noel insists they still fight, for the betting, but then Jack and his ex-partner arrive. Despite his perfect arrest, Jack remains reluctant to consider rejoining the force. Then Martha assures him it wouldn't compromise their second marriage. Written by KGF Vissers

"It all got pretty dodgy there for a while"
20 June 2008 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

A bit of a damp squib this.Ric's big plan for stopping Logan is to just stand there getting pummelled and Noel's behaviour makes him seem even more pathetic than ever:waving a gun around actually has the affect of making him less threatening rather than more. The fight is halted by the attendees being unable to tell the difference between a police car and an ambulance and a stand-off is halted by one police officer and her ex-colleague.We don't even find out what happened to Logan, who just vanishes from the action after Jack and Lara show up.

The material at the hospital is better with Viv seeming more and more divorced from the smooth manipulator we first encountered and Matilda once more showing why she's become one of the show's rising stars by saving a baby that's going to cause her trouble while Ric and Viv stand around dithering. But the suggestion that Jack might rejoin the police force is extremely disappointing when they've actually been giving him some interesting writing for a change.
