Ilm Featurette On The Avengers' Epic New York Battle

27 December 2012 7:54 AM, PST | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

"While "The Avengers" posed many visual efffects challenges, one of the larger challenges was pulling together the "tie-in" shot during the third act of the film. Rather than frames, this single shot is measured in minutes on screen and is one of the longest effects shots in the film. It incorporates both practical special effects and extensive digital visual effects by Ilm. The New York City environment that serves as the setting for this shot (and virtaully the entire alien invasion) is computer generated by the visual effects team at Ilm." The Marvel Cinematic Universe (McU) is a shared film universe consisting of superhero film adaptations based on characters and concepts from Marvel Comics. Phase I of the McY saw Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, and Captain America: The First Avenger share themes, items and concepts before culminating in 2012's The Avengers. Robert Downey Jr. Talks Tone, Ben Kingsley and More in 'Iron Man 3'

26 December 2012 3:57 PM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

If you're like us, you celebrated the holidays by rewatching Shane Black's terrific detective story Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which - like many of Black's films - is set at Christmastime. It's also a great primer for the dynamic we can expect between Black and his lead actor Robert Downey Jr. in the upcoming Iron Man 3, which recently made our list of 30 Films We'd Be Sad To Miss If the World Ends. We've seen some excellent trailers so far, and Downey recently spoke with the mag Nuts UK (Nsfw link, via Comic Book Movie) and offered up a few more tidbits about what Marvel has in store to kick off its cinematic Phase Two. Here's what Downey told Nuts UK when asked how this film compares with Jon Favreau's Iron Man 2: “I think Shane’s gone for a dark feel in this movie. It’s »

Seven Best Film Nude Scenes From 2012

26 December 2012 4:07 AM, PST | WorstPreviews.com | See recent Worst Previews news »

Just like every year, there was a lot of nudity in 2012. Most of it came from television shows like "Game of Thrones," "Girls," "Californication" and "Spartacus," and some were of just celebrities being nude. In 2012, Allison Pill (Midnight in Paris, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Milk) accidentally posted a topless photo of herself on Twitter, Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises) was spotted topless on the set of "Rust and Bone," and paparazzi snapped some shots of Kate Middleton walking about nude while on vacation. But in film, the most surprising nude scene came from "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart, who went topless in "On the Road." Olivia Munn (Iron Man 2) also went topless in "Magic Mike," and Sarah Silverman took everything off for a shower scene in "Take This waltz." Even former Power Ranger Anna Hutchison took her clothes off in "Cabin in the Woods." Below is our list »

Congratulations To Men In Black 3 For Being The Year’s Most Mistake-Ridden Movie!

23 December 2012 7:21 AM, PST | Filmofilia | See recent Filmofilia news »

The end is near. I mean, the end of the year is near, and we’re here to announce the winners of a pretty cool contest that was held at Moviemistakes website. As you already see from our title, Men In Black 3 is the absolute champion (cheers!) In other words – with even 63 entries, Barry Sonnenfeld‘s 3D sci-fi comedy is definitely the year’s most mistake-ridden movie. Check out the rest of this report to see a complete list of winners…

First of all, let me share some interesting details about our lucky winner. With the above mentioned 63 entries, Men In Black 3, is absolutely unbeatable – it has more than twice as many blunders as second placed Skyfall.

Inaccurate flags, inconsistent timelines and disappearing cars were enough for the strong 1st place.

Just for a record, 2011′s list-topper was Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which had 55 entries listed by the end of the year, »

New Iron Man 3 Still Shows Badly Damaged Tony Stark

20 December 2012 5:23 AM, PST | Filmofilia | See recent Filmofilia news »

Tony Stark, aka the Invincible Iron Man, looks like he has seen better days in this new still from the film. To keep everyone talking about the upcoming production, Marvel Studios has unveiled a new photo from next summer’s Iron Man 3.

It shows Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) in a completely thrashed suit of armor, apparently after some epic battle.

In other news related to the wicked-sweet blockbuster, Atlanta Hip-Hop star T.I. told Rap-Up.com in a recent interview that he was considered for an unspecified role in the Marvel threequel, but he dropped out due to scheduling conflict. The rapper-turned-actor, whose previous films include Atl and Takers, said:

I was being considered for this one film. Now that it’s over with, I can say it. ‘Iron Man 3.’ I was being considered for ‘Iron Man 3′ and it wasn’t to be Iron Man, it was »

Tony Stark Takes Damage In New Iron Man 3 Photo

19 December 2012 8:12 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Despite beating the snot out of everyone’s favorite super villain Loki in The Avengers, it looks like Tony Stark has a rough road ahead of him for his upcoming outing, Iron Man 3. In a new still released today by Marvel (shown above), we see everyone’s favorite (or at least my favorite) Avenger all suited up and not in the best shape. From the looks of it, he seems to have taken quite a beating, likely at the hands of Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin.

No word yet on which scene this still is taken from but one thing is for sure and that is that the road to victory won’t be easy for Iron Man. It looks like things will be getting dark and dangerous for the playboy billionaire. He doesn’t seem too happy in the still either as he wears a somber expression on his face. »

'The Avengers' Almost Lost Black Widow, Gained the Wasp

19 December 2012 7:51 AM, PST | NextMovie | See recent NextMovie news »

Making movies is a strange and interesting process. Often the ideas you start with end up not even being in the finished film. Case in point: At a Directors Guild of America event recently, "The Avengers" director Joss Whedon revealed that the big star of his first draft of the screenplay was actually... The Wasp.

And leaving her out of the movie really stung.

So why The Wasp, who in the comics is a young socialite named Janet Van Dyne who can become really tiny, fly around and zap people with bio-electric stings? Simple: They weren't sure Scarlett Johansson would be coming back to reprise her "Iron Man 2" role as The Black Widow.

"There was a little bit of time where we thought we might not actually get Scarlett [Johansson]," Whedon revealed. "There was a very Waspy draft that I wrote. But it was way too Waspy. I was like, »

Robert Downey Jr. Talks Iron Man 3 & Shane Black

Before they put their heads together for the upcoming Marvel flick Iron Man 3, Robert Downey Jr. and Shane Black got acquainted working on the underrated modern noir masterpiece Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

If you’re unfamiliar with Shane Black, he’s the guy who wrote Lethal Weapon and is renowned as a kind of master when it comes to writing slick and witty dialogue cues – the kind of slick and witty dialogue cues that Robert Downey Jr. loves to mumble his way through. He’s also writing/directing Iron Man 3. So what kind of relationship do actor/director share?

“I adore him,” said Downey Jr. in a recent interview. “I’ve been a fan of Shane Black since I saw Lethal Weapon. When we were doing the first Iron Man, Jon Favreau and I used to call up Shane Black. We had two lifeline calls; one was to J.J. Abrams, »
