I absolutely loved Padraig Reynolds’ newest film, The Devil’S Dolls (read my review over at Fangoria). It feels like a Southern Gothic masterpiece and really knows how to hit your nerves like a ton of bricks. September 2016 VOD Releases Include The Shallows, Antibirth, The Neighbor

You can tell just by September’s VOD offerings that we are definitely inching our way closer to another Halloween season, as we have 12 different titles hitting VOD and various digital platforms this month. Things kick off on September 2nd with Danny Perez’s surreal Antibirth from IFC Midnight, and just a few days later, The Neighbor (the latest collaboration between Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton) comes home as well.

Both The Neon Dead and The Shallows hit VOD on September 13th, and two more horror films—The Devil's Dolls and Tell Me How I Die—arrive just a few days later on digital platforms everywhere.

Exclusive: Sales outfit strikes deals for three titles in Cannes: Worry Dolls, The Lesson and Last Girl Standing.

UK genre specialist Jinga Films has sold three of its titles to North America in deals closed at the Cannes Marché.

Padraig Reynolds’ supernatural horror Worry Dolls [pictured] has been picked up by IFC Midnight, which in recent years has handled the Us releases of horror films including Can Evrenol’s Baskin and Jennifer Kent’s The Babadook.

Starring Christopher Wiehl (Jericho), Kym Jackson (Iron Sky) and Samantha Smith (Transformers), the film follows a detective racing against the clock to save his eight-year-old daughter from a voodoo curse. IFC previously released director Reynolds’ debut feature Rites Of Spring.
