Storyline

Frank Goodman after graduating from college as a doctor goes to a nearby country town to visit his uncle, an old doctor by the same name. When he arrives he becomes acquainted with Bertie Parsons, daughter of wealthy old Ed. Pearsons, whose one great desire is to see her wedded to Dr. Frank Goodman. Old, mean and with a sour disposition he is as distasteful to Bertie as he is ardent in his lovemaking to her. When young Dr. Goodman meets Bertie, he is greatly attracted by her and when he learns of her father's choice for her husband, he rebels. While waiting in the old doctor's office a note is left there which he reads. It is from Ed. Pearsons, saying that he is dying and requesting the doctor to come at once prepared to marry his daughter by his death bed. To save her, the young doctor decides to masquerade as the old doctor and marry her himself. In its haste he leaves the note on the table.
