Goofs

In "The Good, the Bad, and the Smurfy," Papa Smurf is instructing the wizard Mordaine on ingredients for a toad spell and one of its ingredients he mentioned is three sarsaparilla leaves. However, sarsaparilla (a tropical green-brier native to the Americas), was unknown to Europeans until the 16th century. The background of the Smurfs cartoon series is the late Middle Ages (circa 14-15th century), too early for the European understanding of sarsaparilla. See more »
