A deep and complex story.
Sleepin_Dragon12 February 2021
Boyd has to dig a lot deeper when he sees his key witness gunned down in front of him.

It's such an interesting episode, the story is deep and complex, we know so much more about the Iraq situation now, and that's a different story.

Boyd is battling the demons he's feeling about Luke, and he's trying to piece together this case, which is awakening many of his own deep feelings.

It's very well acted, the regular cast are all on top form, I particularly enjoyed Trevor Eve here, watching Graves punch him was a great moment.

It's very good, I'd say it's quite a heavy story, it lacks any lighter moments. 7/10.

Why do these episodes end so abruptly?
freejoyhart20 September 2023
I really like Waking the Dead, and the stories are dark & complex, which are my favorite tunes of shows. I've watched each & every episode, but one thing that has always frustrated me is the the episode, or at least most of them, seem to come to an abrupt end. It's just strange for a show with such sensitivity would choose to do that! It leaves me feeling incomplete & wanting more. Why do the writers of these stores do that? The acting is really exceptional & the episodes have really fascinating twists & turns. I feel like I know the actors personally! I just wish they'd given more thoughtful time to the endings!

Boyd gets gut punched
cwkepi-435-96218427 September 2020
This is one of the best episodes yet. Good plot, twists and turns, suspense and drama, but the best part is watching DA Boyd get punched in the gut. We watched that part over and over again.

The Boyd character (and the actor?) is one the worst characters ever seen. He is a petty tyrant who berates and belittled his team He uses no wisdom or experience to solve cases, all he does is brow beat his team to hurry up because he's an impatient 12 year old. Watching him hurt is satisfying.
