Hard to believe it’s been almost a year since the death of Huell Howser, the folksy chronicler of all things weird and wonderful in California.
Kcet, the Los Angeles public TV station that Howser called home for more than 30 years, has set a marathon of fan-selected episodes of Howser’s “Visiting …” and “California’s Gold” series to run Jan. 5 from 7 p.m. to midnight. Additional episodes will air at 7:30 p.m. (his former time slot) Monday-Friday that week, capped on Saturday by back-to-back segs from 5-6 p.m.
Howser died Jan. 6, 2013 at age 67. His programs were part travelogue, part local history and always a study in colorful characters unique to the Golden State.

Kate Meets Castle's Dad
James Brolin returns as Jackson Hunt, the estranged dad of Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion), on the Jan. 13 episode of ABC's Castle. He meets his son's fiancée, Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), but for most of the episode, she's unaware that the CIA operative is her future father-in-law (he keeps his identity secret to protect his undercover work). "That introduction comes later and is far more awkward," says Fillion.

Castle is going to be delving into the past of our cherished Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) in an episode that’s deliberately taking on a Devil Wears Prada theme. Why would it do such a thing? Well, besides the fact that The Devil Wears Prada is a magnificently insightful film about fashion (and I really just can’t turn down the fascinatingly gorgeous face of Anne Hathaway), I think we can all agree that we would love to learn a little bit more about Beckett’s past, especially during the period in her life when she was almost a model. That, above anything else, makes such an episode worthy of our time.
As reported by TV Guide, Frances Fisher was cast in this Prada-themed episode. Executive producer Andrew Marlowe even referred to her as playing the Anna Wintour type character. We’ll learn that this character, named Matilda King, runs »

This mid-season cliffhanger pulls together dangling plot threads and delivers some crisply staged action
Spoiler Alert: This blog is for people watching Agents of Shield. Don't read on if you haven't seen episode 10

As Agents of Shield episode titles go, The Bridge is not without metaphorical potential. Could this instalment – the first of a cliffhanging two-parter to be resolved in 2014 – be a pontoon between the show's initial, uncertain baby steps and its final, striding form? Or could it be another fan-friendly nod to the realm of Asgard – Thor and Heimdall hang out on some sort of Rainbow Bridge, right? Or was it yet another definitive-article Shield facility to add to The Index alongside The Slingshot, The Hub, The Cooler and The Tuckshop (one of these is made up)?
As it turned out, The Bridge was just a bridge – the night-time location for »

After Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finally overcame its rocky premiere and established itself as an honest to goodness television show, ghosts from the series’ unfortunate beginnings return to bring everything to a grinding halt – all for the sake of revealing Coulson’s secret. But not until next year, and only if you’re still watching. Will you be?

Fisher will appear in the Jan. 27 episode as fashion magazine magnate Matilda King in an episode that “has a little Devil Wears Prada feel to it with an Anna Wintour-type character,” series creator Andrew W. Marlowe tells TV Guide Magazine.

Once an actor stars in something that’s widely loved enough among Internet circles to be considered as having “geek cred,” they earn quite a bit of leeway when it comes to judgment over whatever lame projects that they might do afterward. We’ve seen this phenomenon take place when everyone was willing to sit through six seasons of Castle without doing much complaining, just because of how much they loved Nathan Fillion in Firefly. We’ve seen it when people have actually been willing to buy tickets to go see Donald Glover rap. There’s perhaps been no bigger example of someone being handed a nerd cred get out of jail free card in the history of modern entertainment than Jason Bateman coming off of starring in Arrested Development though. Ad was basically like nerd catnip—it was funny, it was weird, it was underappreciated, it was intricately self-referential—and after Bateman’s turn as the »

It's time to celebrate the upcoming return of "Community" Season 5 with the first trailer video, a possible return by Nathan Fillion and a rather awesome music Vine featuring stars Alison Brie and Danny Pudi.
This will hopefully be enough to keep everyone going until the official Jan. 2 return of "Community."
Season 5 goes dark-ish for Jeff
As Season 4 ended, Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) enjoyed the sweet and unfamiliar taste of success as he finally graduated from Greendale Community College. But that success may be short-lived. It's hard, after all, to be a lawyer when you suddenly have morals and scruples and the interests of humanity at heart.
Thus, Jeff gets his return to Greendale -- as a professor.
Everyone is -- at least briefly -- very happy about this. Except maybe Jeff himself, but that's only to be expected.

With only one month and one day until the premiere of the second half of Teen Wolf‘s Season 3, it’s time to catch up. What kind of fallout will Scott, Stiles, and Allison experience after they sacrificed themselves to save their parents? A touch of insanity, if the TV spots are any indication.
We have new cast photos, including newbie classmate Kira (Arden Cho), “a girl with remarkable powers of her own”, a very creepy new TV spot, and a press release that also announces the new half hour post-show Wolf Watch, Teen Wolf‘s version of Talking Dead, hosted by Jill Wagner, who played Allison’s Aunt Kate until Peter ripped her throat out:
TV Spot: Teen Wolf – Season 3.5 Hallway
