Did You Know?

House's diagnosis by watching the soap actor on television in this episode mirrors an actual event in November 2006 where the then Junior Minister for Foreign Affairs in Ireland, Conor Lenihan, was diagnosed with a tumour while appearing on a current affairs programme. A surgeon who was watching noted a lump on his face that remained static when he spoke. He rang the Minister's office the following day and left a message for him to call back on an urgent personal matter. Mr Lenihan returned the call, though he was unsure what the matter might be. The consultant surgeon explained his fears and recommended that he have the lump examined immediately by a Head and neck specialist at a nearby Dublin hospital. When he was examined it was discovered to be a potentially lethal parotid tumour. Although benign, left without treatment he would have suffered severe facial disfigurement. The tumour was removed in January and he returned to work shortly afterward. See more »

House is doing a visual field exam on guest star Jason Lewis, whom he thinks has a brain tumor, without patching one eye, testing both eyes together at the same time. Visual field exams have to be done one eye at a time, with the eye not being tested wearing a patch, to prevent one eye's visual field from interfering with the measurement of the other eye's visual field. House doing the test without an eye patched will yield worthless information. See more »

Thirteen: [Taub and House lean closer to the TV] No.
