VOODOO FOR IDIOTS

Richard Jones (Kel Mitchell) is a sexual con artist. One night his manhood is stolen by a succubus. He has until midnight to find the missing item and have a Voodoo queen reattach it for him. But who has it?

The film runs through the gauntlet of former ex-one night stands. Richard is also hounded by the brother (Brooklyn McLinn) of one of the girls, a loan shark collector, and the MIB. The movie is mostly low brow humor with some good moments. I think if they had gone of a quirky "Scott Pilgrim" style, this would have been a hit. If you like African-American comedies like "Budz House" you might want to check this one out.

Most of the time with straight to DVD movies the average person is skeptical about the quality of the movie. I am extremely excited to say that this movie set my worries to ease. In this movie Kel Mitchell and Page Kennedy give a stellar performance. This movie is truly a gut buster. I am so glad I rented on DVD because I rewound that movie so many times throughout the movie because of the comedy in it. It is knee slappin just about to pee on yourself funny. I really feel that this movie should be a break out role for Kel because it shows him still doing comedic roles but in a more mature and adult fashion. I also have to give respect to Page Kennedy in this movie because I am not used to seeing him in comedy but he definitely did not disappoint in this movie as the straight guy. I encourage all who read this to go out and buy this movie, it will not disappoint and will definitely be worth the money. I rented it yesterday but I am going to go buy it later because it is a must have for my collection.

To my great surprise, I loved this movie

One day, I was looking in Hollywood Video, and I had 2 free rentals when I saw this movie on the new release shelf. Knowing nothing about it, and not even reading the back, I rented this. The reason being I haven't seen Kel Mitchell in a movie in a very long time, and I think he is an extremely funny guy. I though that I was either going to love or hate this movie. Considering I like Kel Mitchell, I had to see this movie. But one thing about this movie surprised me: it was one of the funniest movies I have seen in a very long time. This is the story of Richard Jones (Kel Mitchell), a deceiving womanizer who one day has sex with a strange woman who takes his "manhood". Now in a race against time, Richard must get his "manhood" back. Dealing with angry girls whose lives got screwed up because of him, aliens who think he's one of them, loan sharks who cut off people's body parts, and an ex-girlfriend's brother who's trying to kill him. Will Richard get his "manhood" back? What will these girls do to him? Is his best friend even in on this? Trying to figure these things out is all part of the fun of what is by far one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. Trust me, you'll be cracking up and at the same time having fun trying to figure out what the hell is going on. It is definitely urgent you go see this film if you're looking for a hilarious, unpredictable comedy.
