Based on the online smash hit, '305' is a mockumentary detailing the misadventures of five not-so-brave members of the Spartan army charged with guarding a seemingly ordinary goat path. But when their actions lead to the death of King Leonidas and his army of 300 men, the five must find a way to redeem themselves and save Sparta from invasion. Written by
A nice deviation from the rest of the 'Meet the Spartans'
In a horrible era of 'Meet the Spartans', 'Epic Movie' and 'Scary Movie 30', there is a flick that finally pops out of this pop-culture clusterbang that doesn't rely on other people's success and good writing. This flick is told almost like 'The Office', where all the characters are being interviewed as well as looking directly to the cameras. It is shot almost entirely against a green screen, with the backgrounds looking like something from Castle Wolfenstein, but the acting and stories are surprisingly good for a movie that has its roots in youtube super stardom. Surprisingly original, ingeniously written, and full of hilarity. Check out this flick if you're also sick of all these remakes and pop culture regurgitation.
