Black Panther is the focus on a new special features clip from Captain America Civil War.

At San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, Chadwick Boseman (T’Challa/Black Panther from “Captain America: Civil War”) unveiled a sneak peek of a bonus feature clip from the in-home release of “Captain America: Civil War.” This is the first piece of bonus material to ever be revealed from this year’s biggest blockbuster.   The clip is from the 60-minute, behind-the-scenes featurette titled “United We Stand, Divided We Fall – The Making of Captain America: Civil War Part 1 & 2.” It showcases how Marvel selected Black Panther and features interviews with all-star cast members who explain what it was like to welcome an all-new character to the McU family.     When the year’s biggest blockbuster Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” arrives early on Digital HD, Digital 3D and Disney Movies Anywhere on Sept. 2 and on Blu-ray™ 3D, »

This Week in Marvel Unlimited

9 hours ago | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

The San Diego Comic Con has wrapped up and boy did they give us some goodies to look forward to at the movie theater in the next couple years. The trailers to Wonder Woman, Justice League, And Doctor Strange were mind blowing. The trailers to the Netflix shows from Marvel, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders were great as well.

One bit Marvel ended up closing their presentation with was the announcement of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. Due in theaters in 2019, this will be the first female starring movie Marvel has put out (despite having the recipe for an amazing movie with Scarlett Johannsen as Black Widow but that’s another story.) With this news, I thought I would dive into the brilliant 2012 comic from Kelly Sue DeConnick that debuted Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel (she’d previously been Ms. Marvel.)

This is the perfect starting on point »

Here's Who Really Won This Year's San Diego Comic-Con According To Online Buzz

10 hours ago | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

If a studio pays big money for time in Hall H, you'd best believe that they want to leave the event knowing that the movies they've teased have generated a lot of buzz online. With very few studios outside of Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. making their presence felt this time, it was very much Marvel vs. DC this past weekend, and social media numbers point to there being a clear winner!  According to data compiled by ListenFirst Media (via Variety), Suicide Squad came out on top with a 548k score. The company uses metrics from social media, seach traffic, and Wikipedia views to come up with these numbers, checking them before the event in order to gauge the increase in interest. The full list of results can be found by clicking below, but rounding out the top ten were movies like Wonder Woman (366k), Justice League (295k), Kong: Skull Island »

Spider-Man: Homecoming Gives Flash Thompson a Drastic Makeover

12 hours ago | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Leading into Marvel Studios' Hall H panel at Comic-Con on Saturday afternoon, we knew that Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would be part of the panel, thanks to social media posts from directors Scott Derrickson and James Gunn. One of the panel's big surprises was the arrival of the Spider-Man: Homecoming cast, who had taken a break in production in Atlanta to showcase the very first footage to the Comic-Con crowd. That footage confirmed that one iconic character has a much different look in this movie.

One scene from the Comic-Con footage featured Tony Revolori, who, when he was cast in April, was said to be playing a character named Manuel, described as a "schoolyard enemy" to Tom Holland's Peter Parker, much like Flash Thompson from the comic books. It seems the name Manuel was all just a red herring, since the footage confirmed »

Benjamin Bratt Might Be In Marvel's Doctor Strange

12 hours ago | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

Apparently a new cast member has been listed as one of the stars for Doctor Strange. This comes in the form of Benjamin Bratt being listed among such ones as Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, and Rachel McAdams. Even though the actor is listed in the film,  there is no indication or idea about who or what Bratt may be playing. For the most part, a majority of notable roles in the film have been filled. But, a certain flaming headed freak hasn't been added to the film or even cast...

Maybe that is who Bratt is playing? Fans have noticed that a good chunk of Bratt's latest work consists of a lot of voice over Stuff. So that raises the question on whether or not he may actually be portraying the classic Strange villain Dormammu. Dormammu is such a powerful character in the comics that it has taken Doctor Strange »

Joss Whedon Says There’s a Big Problem With Movies Today

12 hours ago | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

Popular director/writer Joss Whedon says that there is a problem with the current state of the movie industry, and part of the problem is the fans themselves. Read more to hear with Whedon had to say about the big flaw in films today.

Appearing at Comic-Con, Joss Whedon had a lot to say about successful filmmaking and the current climate of the movie industry. Whedon, best known for his TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and for the two Avengers movies, pointed out that movie studios are stuck in a safe-zone where they prefer to mass-produce bankable products rather than experiment with anything new. He says they are overly dependent on sequels, reboots, rip-offs and adaptations. However, he didn’t limit the blame to the studios alone He suggested that film fans are partly to blame because fans usually turn out in larger numbers for familiar material, like popular franchises, »

Sdcc '16 Trailer Battle: Justice League, Doctor Strange, Wonder Woman - What Won The Weekend?

13 hours ago | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

San Diego Comic-Con is over for another year, but here on Cbm we're still buzzing about the awesome (and not so awesome) array of trailers that debuted over the weekend. Warner Bros. definitely won the Con in terms of quantity, giving us first looks at both Wonder Woman and Justice League as well as Kong: Skull Island, and new trailers for Fantastic Beasts and The Lego Batman Movie. Marvel held back a little, deciding not to release the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 footage that screened for attendees online - but, they did provide a pretty great new look at Doctor Strange. It's probably not fair to compare initial teasers with second trailers, nor is it really even accurate to describe what we saw from Justice League as a trailer at all - but out of all the footage that was officially released, which got you most excited for the movie? »

New ‘Doctor Strange’ Poster Reveals Benjamin Bratt Role – But Who Does He Play?

15 hours ago | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

Benjamin Bratt is in Disney-Marvel’s upcoming comic book movie “Doctor Strange,” and the way his casting was revealed is strange in itself. Some eagle-eyed folks noticed Bratt’s name on a new poster for the film (h/t McU Exchange), released during last week’s San Diego Comic-Con. The poster offered no surprises except for the addition of the 52-year-old actor, known for his roles in TV’s “Law & Order,” 2004 comic book movie “Catwoman” and this year’s “Ride Along 2.” Also Read: 'Doctor Strange' Trippy New Trailer Shows Buff, Cape-Twirling Benedict Cumberbatch (Video) “Doctor Strange,” starring Benedict Cumberbatch, »

Doctor Strange Will Introduce the Marvel Multiverse to the McU

15 hours ago | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Over the weekend, Marvel Studios once again absolutely dominated Hall H at at San Diego Comic-Con, which came as no surprise, but that doesn't mean the panel was without surprises. Kevin Feige and the rest of the Marvel family came to play, bringing Spider-Man: Homecoming footage, Baby Groot and the whole Black Panther cast. But there is no doubt that the studio heavily focused on the upcoming Doctor Strange. One of the major reveals about the movie was that it will introduce the multiverse into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For those who may be more of a casual fan and may not understand exactly what that means, the multiverse is a collection of various timelines and universes, which can allow for alternate versions of characters and storylines to co-exist. Doctor Strange is the perfect character to introduce this concept, but that means potentially big things for the future. Director Scott Derrickson »

16 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Thanks to the eagle-eyed folks over at McU Exchange, it is now known that actor Benjamin Bratt will have a role in this year’s Doctor Strange.

Many believed that the cast list for the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe installment had already been released in its entirety, but Bratt’s involvement, which was revealed when his name was spotted at the bottom of the newest Doctor Strange Comic-Con poster, proves otherwise. Who knows, if this bit of casting news was kept secret until now, maybe other actors will pop up on screen and surprise audience members when the movie hit theaters. Currently, the actor’s character in the film is unknown.

Bratt Joins & Multiverse Talk Of "Doctor Strange"

17 hours ago | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

The release by Marvel Studios of a new poster for Scott Derrickson's "Doctor Strange" film over the weekend has had fans talking as the one-sheet includes a previously unannounced new addition to the already impressive cast - Benjamin Bratt.

According to Cbm, Marvel has not made any announcements relating to the film to indicate the 52-year-old actor is even a part of it, but with his inclusion here it has already led to speculation as to whom he might play. The most likely character is that of the master of the Dark Dimension himself Dormammu who will likely be saved for the sequel.

The film is set to incorporate the mystic into the Marvel universe and allow for some trippy visuals and exploration of the multiverse on screen. Speaking with Comicbook.com in the wake of the Comic Con panel on Saturday night, Derrickson says:

Doctor Strange and The Punisher teaming up for Magic Bullets Infinite Comic

20 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Marvel has announced that Doctor Strange and The Punisher are set to team up in the fall for a new Infinite Comic entitled Doctor Strange/The Punisher: Magic Bullets, which is being written by John Barber.

Frank Castle doesn’t have time for the mystical nonsense,” said Barber with regards to the dynamic between the two characters. “That’s where he’s coming from. I mean, historically, whenever he’s gotten involved in that stuff, he’s distanced himself from it soon after. I think he’s had his fill—he’s obviously more at home on the street, fighting regular humans. Or, well, killing regular humans, at least. And Doctor Strange lives in the world of magic; even as magic stands now in the Marvel Universe, that’s where he belongs. He’s not comfortable with a guy who goes around blowing away bad guys; that’s just not »

Spider-Man: Homecoming Concept Art Reveals Vulture as Villain

20 hours ago | TheHDRoom | See recent TheHDRoom news »

San Diego Comic-Con provided an update on Sony's Spider-Man: Homecoming which is currently in production. The update addressed arguably the most prominent rumor floating around regarding the film's primary villain.

Actors Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori and Director Jon Watts were on hand to screen a short clip from the upcoming first solo Spider-Man movie in Marvel's Cinematic Universe, a clip that for now will not be screened for the public at large.

Along with the clip Sony offered up the first piece of official Spider-Man: Homecoming concept art featuring the webslinger battling Vulture, a villain who didn't quite make it into the previous two Spider-Man big screen franchises.

Michael Keaton will be portraying Vulture whose alter ego is Adrian Toomes. Keaton will be joined by Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May.

Spider-Man: Homecoming arrives in theaters next summer on July 7th. »
