Storyline

Much of the show was a showcase of the career of Ric Flair, who had lost a "Career Threatening" match to Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV and, per pre-match stipulations had to retire. Past opponents toasted Flair as being the one of the sport's best-ever athletes; video highlights of some of his greatest matches were shown throughout the match. At the end of the night, Flair addressed the crowd and thanked them for their support through the years. The Big Show and Triple H offered words of thanks, and members of the longest-lived version of the Four Horsemen (Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard and Barry Windham, along with manager J.J. Dillon), along with Greg "the Hammer" Valentine and "King" Harley Race all came to the ring to embrace Flair. The entire WWE roster broke kayfabe to salute Flair in the ring. Earlier: * Randy Orton gloated about his victory to retain the WWE World Championship at WrestleMania, claiming the WWE was now in the "Age of Orton." JBL came out and challenged ...
