Doesn't tell you much you couldn't figure out from watching the film itself

This is the featurette on Southland Tales that is on at least some of the DVD's, and the sole bonus on the disc, and making a specific menu for them when this is the only entry merely serves to highlight that fact. It consists of behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, clips of the movie and what I assume must be frames from the graphic novels. Kelly is kind enough to go into what the heck the thing is about, and that's a good thing, because about half of what the actors say in this documentary is that they haven't a clue what it all means. Crew detail their approach to design of costumes and sets, as well as how they achieve various effects shots. That's probably the best of this, really, since Richard, and his producers and such don't particularly explain anything that you can't piece together yourself, easily with even a single viewing of the subject matter. The presentation is a tad thrown together, with this appearing to simply cover what the people behind it had talked about on camera. Editing is fine. Pacing is decent. I recommend this to those who want to know about the FX, and/or those who want to absorb everything relating to the flick. 6/10
