Fox Developing Supernatural Thriller ‘Inside’ With ‘Luther’ Creator Neil Cross
Fox is developing the supernatural thriller “Inside,” to be written by British scribe Neil Cross, creator of BBC’s crime drama “Luther.”

Producers are The Picture Company’s Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman, who recently teamed up with Fox and Cross for their “Escape From New York” remake and attached Robert Rodriguez to directing. “Escape From New York” has been in the works at the studio since 2015, when Fox obtained the remake rights.

Fox beat out several other bidders for the “Inside” project in an auction that was conducted by UTA. Mike Ireland is the Fox executive on “Inside.”

“Inside” is set within a modern-day secure facility that’s home to mythological creatures along with a man who’s been unjustly imprisoned. It’s described as having the feel of “The Shawshank Redemption” but with a supernatural element.

Cross was one of Variety’s 2011 Ten Screenwriters to Watch. His credits

Andrew Buchan: 'I have a well of darkness in me'

The star of Broadchurch, The Fixer and Party Animals has the sort of face that makes people confide in him. Sometimes they tell him about the time they killed someone

'I love going unnoticed," says Andrew Buchan. But sometimes that doesn't happen. One afternoon, for instance, the actor was in the gift shop at Liverpool football club, happily examining keyrings. A man came up to him and said: "You're that lad off the telly." He replied: "Very possibly, yeah." And the man said: " I've got a story for you."

As we sit in the genteel cafe of a swanky London hotel, with a playerless piano tinkling Lloyd Webber tunes in the background, Buchan acts out a little two-hander, playing both thickly accented scouser and Andrew Buchan, baffled off-duty thesp. "So the man says, 'Last summer I was housesitting for me girlfriend Carole, who was off to Cyprus with her mate.

Meet Clarice Orsini in this New Da Vinci's Demons Featurette

  • Dread Central
A new featurette has arrived for Starz's upcoming "Da Vinci's Demons," in which we meet a 15th century version of Hillary Clinton: the elegant, beautiful, and deceptively powerful Clarice Orsini as portrayed by Lara Pulver.

Orsini is the wife of Lorenzo Medici (played by Elliot Cowan) and part of the ultimate Florentine “power couple” in David S. Goyer’s new Starz Original Series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” Lara Pulver (“True Blood,” “Sherlock,” “Robin Hood”), who plays Orsini, compares her character to “a modern-day Hillary Clinton or a Wallis Simpson – a powerhouse of a woman who is a devoted wife and mother and yet, a very forward-thinking, intelligent, driven woman.”

While the da Vinci depicted in the history books was renowned for his works of art and inventions that included the calculator, army tank, diving suit, solar power, and many more, “Da Vinci’s Demon’s” depicts a 25-year-old da Vinci (portrayed by Tom Riley,

Per Deadline, Goyer said that his first historical period project would be about 85% historically accurate. “He had a pretty incredible life we didn’t have to embellish as much as you’d think,” Goyer said of Da Vinci, portrayed by Tom Reilly. Goyer pointed out that though Da Vinci is best known as an artist and scientist, he was also thought to be a great horseman. Turning Da Vinci into a TV superhero was not too difficult: “He’s kind of superhero-y anyway.”

Goyer described the tone of the show as historical but “viewed through a modern prism,
