"Mars" is an 8-year-old LBGT short film written and directed by Marcus Richardt. For the filmmaker, it was the second short film as director and premiere as writer. There are basically 4 actresses in the center of it. Three of them are fairly unknown to this day, but the main character is played by Anna Maria Mühe (daughter of Ulrich), one of Germany's most known actresses of her generation. She plays a tough girl here who falls in love with a photographer. The film runs for 16 minutes only, so there is not that much character development possible, but basically it's all about growing closer to the other girl (who looks like a younger version of that actress from "Scrubs") and away from her clique. That's what she does in the final scene. I thought this was a decent short film, but the ending was fairly weak and cost it 1-2 stars. Richardt is not exactly enjoying a prolific career right now, but if he steps it up a bit, he can at least become a regular director for television. Still, this short film was underwhelming all in all. Not recommended.
