Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

1/10

Hermione and Ron kiss once as do Harry and Ginny.

We see a disturbing naked foetus covered in blood (See violence and gore) No genitals are shown.

Violence & Gore

7/10

Quite a bit of fighting and death, especially in the final battle for Hogwarts.

Countless characters, bad and good, are killed by spells or large creatures.

A couple enemies are vaporized when they try to run through a force field, and a bridge full of them is blown up.

Others disintegrate into ashes upon death.

A werewolf is shown feeding on a dead Hogwarts student, the wound is briefly seen.

A snake is decapitated in slow motion (it vaporizes upon contact with the sword).

Theres also some violence aside from the ending battle. Goblins fall to their death, and others are consumed by flame.

A teenage boy is engulfed by flames and killed.

A big snake lunges into a man repeatedly (we see him being slammed against a window, and later with blood on his neck).

A disturbing foetus type being is shown in the foetal position, covered in blood.

Profanity

2/10

One use of the word b*tch by a motherly character. ("Not my daughter you B*tch")

A few uses of the word hell ("Bloody Hell"). A few uses of the word damn.

0/10

There is mention of butterbeer which is a wizarding drink. This is however very brief.

10/10

This is the most intense, violent and emotional film in the series. The entire film is very dark; themes involving death and war are pervasive, with a constant, eerie state of depression.

There are many cutscenes of a castle being destroyed slowly: we flames and smoke from a distance with the sound of a large battle taking place and eerie music playing in the background and several shots show various areas of the castle grounds being destroyed; very emotional and frightening as the castle has become a very memorable place to fans.

Several intense fight scenes are seen between men, women, teenagers, and various monstrous creatures.

In a very violent and disturbing sequence, a man is brutally beaten to death by a snake: through foggy glass we see the man twitching and convulsing as he is thrown against the glass several times and we later see blood everywhere including some blood on his neck as a teenage boy puts his hand on it to stop the bleeding; the shot lingers on the man's face as he dies (his actual wound is not seen). There is quite a bit of blood. This is a very upsetting scene as it is Snape's death scene.

A bloody, ofetus-like creature is shown briefly; slightly disturbing and startling.

A teenage boy kills a man with a spell, and the man decays and we see flakes of skin coming off his forehead as he screams in agony; not very graphic and not at all bloody, but quite disturbing.

An army of men, women, and teenagers is given time to retrieve their dead after a battle: bodies are shown, including those of known characters, and friends and family are shown mourning; very frightening and emotionally intense.

A prolonged scene contains the following: a child excessively bullies another child, a woman is hit with a spell and she dies, a man's face is shown close-up (eyes still open), a baby boy with a recently received (though not bloody) scar on his forehead cries, and a man crying in despair beside a dead body and eventually grasping said body in a desperate embrace; this entire sequence (especially the last part) extremely emotional.

A mother tries to fight off a man who is trying to kill her son but she is killed; her dead body is shown throughout the film.

As this is the climax of the Harry Potter series, it is very emotionally intense. Many characters die and these scenes are especially sad. The movie becomes very emotional and overwhelming towards the end of the movie.

Overall: 20/50

Although the film only has an rating of 19/50 overall, the film is very violent, scary and possibly emotionally distressing and is not recommended for anyone under the age of 13.
