Homeless and culture shocked, he quickly rose through the boxing ranks and became Junior Middleweight Champion of the World. Kassim, now age 27, seems to have obtained the American Dream with his jovial nature, fame and hip hop lifestyle. A Beautiful Film - Both Happy and Sad
22 September 2010 | by (Paradise, California) – See all my reviews

I loved this documentary! It has absolutely stunning photography. The music is fabulous, fun and perfect in the film. This is the story of Kasim Ouma, a world champion boxer, his childhood as a kidnapped boy soldier in Uganda, his family and his life today as a famous fighter. Ouma is a gorgeous man with a loving, happy personality and a quick smile. The film follows him through his boxing career and childhood in the army. You meet his mother, grandmother, and children.

Ouma's personality, the stunning photography and the wonderful music make this documentary a must see. As I was watching this picture I kept turning to my husband and saying how much I loved the film. We're boxing fans, but you don't have to know anything about the boxing world to enjoy this story. Ouma did not just rise from rags to riches - he truly rose from the pits of hell to the pinnacle of success in America

  • and his heartwarming tale is well worth seeing.
