It took about four hours for Colin Morgan to be transformed into Emrys with prosthetics.

Arthur Pendragon's original name in Welsh, is Arthwys Penddraiggoch or Pen Ddraig Goch. Pen means "head" in Welsh, and Y Ddraig Goch actually means "a red dragon", and it is a national symbol of Cymru (Wales). Merlin's real name, in Welsh, is Myrddin Wyllt Emrys.
Sir John Hurt (The Great Dragon), Mark Williams (The Goblin), and Michael Jennings (Sidhe Elder) are the only individuals who do not appear in physical form on the show. Only their vocal talents are used.

Colin Morgan is actually a vegetarian in real-life, so all the scenes with a consumption of animal products had to be faked.
While still on the set of this show, in between takes, lead actors and best friends Bradley and Colin made songs on their own, showing their mutual hidden musical talent. Those songs are not supposed to be released in public, yet the fans posted them on YouTube.

Bradley James (Arthur) and Colin Morgan (Merlin) first met on the set of this show.They soon became best friends, and remain best friends to this day.
Colin Morgan and Bradley James are virtually identical in height (they are six feet tall each). Colin being only about one centimeter taller than Bradley. Colin is 1.83 meters tall, while Bradley is 1.82 meters tall.

Merlin's real name is Myrddin Wyllt. Myrddin is his given name, Wyllt is a family name, or his surname (last name) as a sixth century Celtic druid. Emrys is his druid name. When translated from original Welsh, and then anglicized, his druid name would be Ambrosius.

At season two, back in 2009, Bradley and Colin became blood brothers. Since Bradley has no brother of his own, this way Colin was to become his brother by blood (both literally and figuratively).

Colin Morgan's full name, in Gaelic, is Cailéan Muírgen, without being anglicized. Bradley James' full name, however, is Bradley Gregory James, Jr. Gregory is his middle name, yet he never uses his full name in public.
