22 March 2017 9:33 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Just days after the Transformers: The Last Knight trailer offered a new glimpse at the villainous Megatron, we have yet another look at this villain, along with other robots in disguise courtesy of new motion posters. These living one-sheets feature returning robots in disguise such as Bumblebee, Megatron, Hound, Barricade and Optimus Prime, along with new additions such as Hot Rod, a fan favorite from the original animated series, making his live-action debut in this movie, the "British" robot Cogman, and the tiny Vespa Transformer Sqweeks. We've heard about all of these robots before, but these motion posters give us a better look at what they bring to the table when this movie hits theaters this summer.

Director Michael Bay debuted all of these motion posters on his Twitter account this morning. The filmmaker previously debuted a first look photo with Sqweeks alongside new star Isabela Moner while production was under way. »

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter pushes the franchise past $1 billion

30 January 2017 10:10 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Despite earning the best reviews of the series [although our own Rob Kojder didn’t like it] and the lowest opening weekend of the series, Paul W.S. Anderson and Sony Pictures have a lot to celebrate with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter as the franchise has crossed $1 billion worldwide.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter earned just $13 million from its opening weekend, which wasn’t enough to unseat Split from the top spot, or trouble Hidden Figures and A Dog’s Purpose. However a strong opening overseas has pushed the film to $78 million worldwide.

The film opened to number one in Japan last December.

It should be noted, however, that while Sony are reporting the franchise has pushed $1 billion, Boxofficemojo claim the series has so far earned $994 million. Either way, it will cross $1 billion next week.

John Hurt: Remembering the Master of Outsiders

For a man whose first claim to screen immortality came when an extraterrestrial freak of nature ripped a hole in his chest and screeched bloody murder in Alien, John Hurt was a hell of an actor. "The alien won the Oscar," a laughing Hurt told me nearly three decades later, referring to the Academy Award that Ridley Scott's 1979 film took home for H.R. Giger's visual effects. It might be the only time in his 55-year career that anyone, let alone a creature that looked like a penis with teeth, »

John Hurt, Oscar-Nominated Star of ‘The Elephant Man,’ Dies at 77

John Hurt, the wiry English actor who played a drug addict in “Midnight Express,” Kane in “Alien,” the title character in “The Elephant Man,” and Winston Smith in “1984” has died. He was 77.

He died on Wednesday at home in Norfolk, his widow, Anwen, confirmed in a statement to Variety. Hurt had disclosed in 2015 that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Anwen wrote as a tribute, “John was the most sublime of actors and the most gentlemanly of gentlemen with the greatest of hearts and the most generosity of spirit. He touched all our lives with joy and magic and it will be a strange world without him.”

Mel Brooks, executive producer of “The Elephant Man,” tweeted that he was a “truly magnificent talent.”

It was terribly sad today to learn of John Hurt's passing. He was a truly magnificent talent.
