Observe and Report (2009) Poster

Trivia

The filming of this movie convinced Seth Rogen he needed to lose weight, after it became hard for him to breathe in the harsh New Mexico air.
Warner Bros. was concerned about the dark subject matter and demanded the production team come up with a "lighter, softer" version of the film. It wasn't until test audiences gave the edited version poorer test scores than the original version that Warner Bros. let them release the film in its original form.
During the filming of a fight scene, Seth Rogen broke a stunt man's nose by accidentally hitting him in the face for real.
Filmed around the same time as the 2009 film "Paul Blart: Mall Cop". Despite the comparisons, the cast and crew of both films kept in touch with each other during production to avoid being too similar.
Jody Hill wrote the role of Ronnie with Seth Rogen in mind, after Rogen was sent the script, he became an active driving force in getting the film green lit and produced at Warner Bros.

In Germany, the title was changed to "Shopping Center King". "Observe and Report" has connotations of surveillance, which has had devastating consequences for many Germans through the years, and thus was considered inappropriate for a comedy.
