Trivia:

'Gerald Butler' interviewed that a scene where a character is murdered by being repeatedly stabbed with a steak bone was so gory that the MPAA gave the film's initial cut an NC-17 rating solely on that basis. When an edited version with much less blood (though still graphically violent) was submitted, the film was immediately granted an R rating.

Goofs:

Factual errors: The uniform Shelton takes from the cop who was kidnapped and locked in the trunk has "31" badges on the collar indicating the 31st police district. Philadelphia doesn't have a 31st district.

Action packed movie with less content

Movie starts off strong. Gerald Butler is the new Russell Crowe/Mel Gibson type lead guy. The movie plays out like the first SAW movie when it should have been more like a remake of DeathWish.Jamie Fox was a good rival for him. A very entertaining movie and was a fun roller-coaster. By the way, nobody walked out when I was there. Too stiff, no emotion not even toward his own family. The ending ruined it for me with its formula Hollywood cliché. It was an unnecessary way to take the cheap way out. Again the end could have been better though the movie was perfect till then.Has a very original plot. Go for the action junkie in you not the devil critic
