The popular novel Sisterland is heading to TV, Deadline reports. Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage's production company is behind the series, and Mistresses' Rina Mimoun will adapt the book for the pilot, which has landed at ABC. The story centers on identical twin sisters who have psychic powers — powers that one of them embraces and publicizes, and that one tries to hide. Mimoun has a vastly underappreciated sisterhood show under her belt already: 2008's short-lived CW show Privileged, which is still the best role Joanna Garcia's ever had. »

Exclusive: Fake Empire‘s Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage and Rina Mimoun were among the WB/CW’s top writer-producer talent. Now the trio have teamed at their new home, ABC Studios, where both Fake Empire and Mimoun are under overall deals. Their collaboration is drama project Sisterland, which has landed at ABC. The iconic fairy will have a surprising connection to another character and will appear in multiple episodes. And as for Robin Hood, Sean Maguire has replaced Tom Ellis as the vigilante due to Ellis' "Merlin" obligations, so Maguire will step in for a recurring arc. »

EW confirms that the Privileged alum will play the iconic mermaid Ariel starting in the sixth episode of the new season and will appear in at least two episodes. TV Guide first reported her casting.
News of the actress’s new gig comes just weeks after EW broke the news that Rose McIver would be stepping in to fill the role of Tinkerbell, who is set to debut in the third season as well.
