Sex & Nudity

Sex scenes in most of the episodes but not all. They are brief, but still somewhat explicit, with moaning and thrusting.

Visible female nudity is seen for the first time in a later season.

Violence & Gore

A character deliberately breaks her finger with a hammer.

Occasional scenes of violence but its very short, not prolonged and not in every episode.

This show is primarily set in a hospital where injuries can be seen, some bloody graphic scenes.

The show contains as much blood as ER or Grey's Anatomy.

Profanity

Frequent use of 'fuck', 'shit' and so on. Cunt is also used on occasions.

Drug use in every episode. The lead character is addicted to prescription pain killers and snorts them aswell as in some voice-over's, descriptions of how to take them for a more effective high and effect from the drug. Drug use is a central feature to the series so is constant an not confined to one but a few.

Some scenes may be emotionally intense.

Suggested MPAA rating: Rated R for drug abuse, sexual content, nudity, bloody images, and language - some involving teens
