An entertaining, surprising and different Hospital Series.
19 January 2016 | by (Spain) – See all my reviews

At first"Nurse Jackie" we can apparently one of many medical shows that currently plague the TV offer (House MD, Grey's Anatomy, Hawthorne, ER) will not be needed more than two chapters so that we realize how wrong we were.

After the first episode in which everything is familiar and hackneyed plots seem to me, the viewer will get the surprise of Chapter 3/4 and start enjoying everything "Nurse Jackie" (Eddie Falco) has to offer. A television series with a worn subject, but from an original perspective, an omnipresent central character with the passing of the chapters has more and more unknown qualities.

As interesting as the stories themselves of the hospital, or the private lives of the characters that make chorus to "Jackie Peyton" (Falco) are the complex moral or ethical dilemmas own (professional and personal) that serves as the central axis these early chapters, in which at no time just falling into moralism. On the contrary: "Nurse Jackie" presents situations in which the characters act better or worse, current and realistic problems that do not always have a happy ending and the gray tones that are drawn just giving the series a distinctive personal touch.

The secondary characters work in a very effective way around "Jackie". Dr. Eleanor O'Hara (Eve Best), which is very rich, the other nurses, the trainee "Zoey", the head edge, the cocky and vulnerable doctor with his "Tourette" and all sexual touching ... they perfect their characters, and all interact in a different way with "Jackie".

Accustomed to the typical hospital series "Soup Opera" (Grey's Anatomy), (Scrubs), (House) ... honestly had already given up on this subject; although recent nominations for the series got give it a try.
