The first episode to use the longer version of the theme song which includes a full verse and chorus rather than just the chorus of The Friendly Indians' song "I Know, You Know". This version is occasionally featured in episodes throughout the remaining seasons making it the 2nd most common of the alternate theme songs. Other modified theme songs relate to the subject of the specific episode (Tears for Fears, Spanish, Bollywood, etc), but the Spanish theme song and the Boyz2Men theme songs were reused as well.
(at around 14 mins) They show the outside of a pawn store, that is actually the front of the Gold and Silver Pawn store in Las Vegas which is where they film the reality show Pawn Stars (2009).
During the reveal, while Shawn is saying, "it was a bad Mother...." Gus abruptly cuts him off saying "SHUT YO' MOUTH!". This is a well known line from the theme song from the blaxploitation detective action movie "Shaft" (1971).
SPOT THE PINEAPPLE: Around the 29 minute mark, when Shawn and Gus are talking to the Ford's in their house, the pineapple can be seen in the background to the left of Mrs. Ford slightly hidden by a small potted plant.
Upon entering the nightclub on the search for Pookie, Will Arnett's voice can be heard. He is an MC at the 1970's themes club.
