Gus' monologue/letter reading at the end is like the end of "The Breakfast Club". Even some lines are shared. Shawn's outfit and fist raising at the end, as well as the freeze frame, are modeled after Judd Nelson's at the end of "The Breakfast Club". Shawn wore Judd Nelson's picture from "The Breakfast Club" the entire episode.
