Continuity

When Monk looks at Bob Costas on the TV monitor, the score at the bottom of the screen states that Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are tied at 14 in the 4th quarter. Obviously, the Condors and Wildcats are from LA and San Fransisco. Also, as stated by Bob Costas later in the episode, the teams are tied at 10 at half-time.

When Monk is near the vending machines and is just about to describe the problem with the playbook, you can see the shadows of someone coming down the ramp. All of a sudden two men are passing behind him, then they come down the ramp and pass behind him a second time.

When Monk and Captain Stottlemeyer are at the tailgate party in the beginning, when the Captain tries to give his beer to Monk, there is no foam in the neck of the beer bottle. When he turns around, there is foam over half way up the neck of the beer bottle.

Factual errors

When Shawn Metzger siphons gasoline from the tank of his limo, he is holding a jar above tank level. To successfully siphon liquid the receptacle actually has to be held *below* the source, due to gravity.

David Gitelson wears jersey number 81 (as seen when he goes to his locker to get the play book), but 81 is typically a wide receiver number, and quarterbacks usually wear numbers in the range of 1-20.
