Daisy Shah all set to make her theatre debut

Daisy Shah, who made her debut in Salman Khan's Jai Ho, is all set to make her theatre debut this year. Daisy Shah will be making her debut in a period play Begum Jaan which will be directed by award-winning director Pradeep Gupta.

In the play, Daisy Shah will be the essaying the lead role and has started prepping for it. As of now, she is doing the readings for the play and has been learning Urdu from diction experts to speak the language fluently. Though she is a trained dancer, Daisy Shah is also training in different classical forms as her character is a performer.

On the work front, Daisy Shah was last seen in Hate Story 3 alongside Sharman Joshi and Karan Singh Grover. Daisy is also rehearsing for her performance at this year's Iifa. »

Gurmeet Choudhary signed for Bhushan Kumars erotic thriller Wajah Tum Ho

After the success of Hate Story 2 and Hate Story 3, producer Bhushan Kumar and director Vishal Pandya have come together once again for another erotic thriller titled Wajah Tum Ho. The film stars telly world's popular actor Gurmeet Choudhary, beautiful Sana Khan and director's actor Sharman Joshi.

The T-Series film is directed by Vishal Pandya who surprised the box-office with Hate Story 3, and now plans to spin off another franchise with this one. "We will kick off Part 2 after I wrap up Hate Story 4 which will roll after this", says Vishal who has co-written the script with Sameer Arora, with dialogue by Rashmi Virag.

The story which is based on three men and a woman has Gurmeet playing a lawyer and Sharman as a cop for the first time. The third male lead is yet to be finalized. "After Jai Ho! Sana will be seen in a glamorous avatar. »

Box Office – ‘Airlift’ is the biggest 100 crore superhit ever on Republic Day release

Airlift is continuing its record spree. The film had another good day at the office on Tuesday and brought in around 1 crore* more. As a result, the collections now stand around the 122 crore* mark and with this, the Raja Menon directed film is now officially the Biggest Republic Day weekend release ever. In the process, it has gone past the biggest so far, Agneepath.

This is how the Top-5 Republic Day weekend releases stand:

Airlift [2016] – 122 crore* [Still running]

Agneepath [2012] – 120 crore

Jai Ho [2014] – 115 crore

Race 2 [2013] – 100.45 crore

Baby [2015] – 95.5 crore

The point to be noted is that each of the other 100 crore grossers is an out and out mainstream commercial entertainer. Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath was the remake of the cult Amitabh Bachchan film. 2016, The Year Of Real Life Film Adaptations, Launches With Airlift

2016 is the year that the lives of public figures such as Indian Cricket Captain Mahendra S Dhoni, former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin and the late heroic flight attendant Neerja Bhanot, will be depicted in reel-life. And kick-starting this year’s trend will be Akshay Kumar’s Airlift, an edge-of the seat thriller. The film is based on true events during the Gulf War in 1990 where the world’s largest civilian evacuation in history took place — over 170,000 Indians were airlifted using 488 flights in just 59 days.

The film focuses on the heroic story of the Kuwait-based Indian businessman, Ranjit Katyal, who masterminded the rescue operation. International icon Akshay Kumar essays the role of Katyal in Airlift.
