Pretty darn good!

All I can say is "Wow!". Every Simpsons fan knows that the Simpsons have been going downhill over the last few years but this episode may be the shows Saving Grace! The episode didn't use dumb jokes, well, at least not too many. Topher Grave was an interesting choice as a guest. He's not super famous but most people would know who your talking about if you say his name. Anyway, when I thought of him playing a school kid I thought to myself "Hmm.Okay.". But he did the Simpsons well. Now that's the A-story. As for the B-story, well, it's okay. I mean it's just that Homer has got a new car for rent and doesn't want to give it up. It doesn't fit in with the A-story but still it doesn't effect the A-story. Overall, this episode rocks!

Near Perfect Spoof

Warning: Spoilers
I've seen The Departed. I loved it. Then I heard The Simpsons were going to have their way with it. Now in the past I've loved what they have done with bits from other movies and using them in the show. And earlier this season they took Eternal Sunshine and turned that into something magical. But I would be the first to tell you that there is no way in this day in age that The Simpsons could strike gold with spoofs twice in a season, not anymore. But my god, they did it.

It is hard to take a movie that is over 2.5 hours and transform it into 20 minutes of show, but they added all the classic moments from the movie except the final shock of Leo getting it in the head and in return Damon gets it too. If Donny and Bart got attacked some how in the end this would have been amazing. But the jokes the story, everything was solid. The subplot with Homer and the new car was decent, but not great. It still had great laughs with the climate controls battling each other. I also enjoyed how Homer gets his old car back.

Solid voice talent, sound, story, finale. 9/10 If only next week's will be as good.

One of the best this season (Contains spoilers sort of)

Warning: Spoilers
The Debarted like a lot of a Simpsons episode is a spoof of a particular film. In this case the episode happens to spoof the departed a film I have yet to see. The plot is one that has been used before on the Simpsons. The plot involves a new kid coming to Springfield called Donny. Donny proves to be more popular than Bart. Which makes Bart jealous. Eventually Bart gains back his popularity and even befriends Donny because he he himself a prankster. However he learns there is a rat in his group and is about to find out who it is. Meanwhile Homer is loaned a fancy car after he goes to get his old car fixed and fines that he prefers the new than the old. Overall a good episode that could have some bugs worked out but is still good to watch.

7.6?!? This Is Going To Be A Good Episode

The DeBarted is an amazing episode. I have watched 13 other Season 19 episodes in which there was 5 bad, 4 okay, 1 good, and 4 pretty good episode. This episode goes in the pretty good category. This episode is just a really funny episode with a good plot. One thing that drives me nuts though is when celebrities voice kids in the Simpsons. It just drives me nuts. They just don't sound like kids at all. The sound like adults. This is a really good Season 19 episode. Look at this scores. 7.6?!? If you see that, you know this is going to be a good episode. Guess what? The next episode has a 7.4 and it looks like an interesting episode. I think right now in the season is a turning point. Two episodes in a row with a score higher than 7.0?!? Great. In all, I give this a 8.1 out of 10.

Good Episode
Gerardrobertson6114 March 2018
This was a rather good episode and Topher Grace was a good choice as Donny. The episode allowed us to see Bart at his prankster best, and how he handled Donny as his competition, a bit like when Lisa had to deal with Allison in a Season 6 episode. It was good to see Skinner gets his revenge on Bart form a change.

The side story of Homer getting around in his hire car was also a funny addition. All in al, an enjoyable episode

Great fun

Thankfully S19 of the show ups its game a little with this episode, that sees Skinner use a new student to try and 'out Bart' Bart.

With some great scenes and some big jokes, this is easily one of the best episodes of a patchy (but unfortunately consistent of recent years) series of the show.
