28 December 2012 10:53 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Having successfully reinvented the Batman movie franchise - and redefined the entire superhero genre - with his Dark Knight trilogy, Christopher Nolan is now busy helping to bring another DC icon to the screen as producer on Zack Snyder's forthcoming Superman reboot Man of Steel. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nolan has spoken of his admiration for Snyder's work on the film, as well as touching upon the challenges facing the Watchmen director as he attempts to realise the world of the Man of Tomorrow and make us believe Henry Cavill (Immortals) can fly.

"Zack was the perfect man to take this on; he is unbelievably skilled at creating a coherent, cohesive world. Whether it’s a very stylized world, like 300, or something that’s more challenging, more varied, like he did with Watchmen. In my honest appraisal, taking on Superman and creating that world is far »

Christopher Nolan talks Man of Steel

6 December 2012 3:37 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

To promote the arrival of The Dark Knight Rises on Blu-ray and DVD earlier this week, The Playlist sat down with Christopher Nolan to discuss his acclaimed Batman trilogy. As well as reiterating once more that Tdkr wraps up his Dark Knight saga - "I'll say definitively again, I am done with the Batman films, the trilogy is completed. It ended in the manner we had envisioned" - the conversation shifted towards DC Comics' other iconic superhero, with Nolan taking a moment to comment on director Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman reboot, Man of Steel.

"I wouldn’t want people to think we're doing for Superman what we did for Batman... [Man of Steel] is very much Zack’s film and I think people are going to love what he's done. I think it's really remarkable to take on that character. Superman is a completely different character than Batman. So you can't »

Sometimes we get stuff sent to us here at Dread Central that leaves us utterly conflicted in regards to whether or not we're going to share it with you.

Update

We have confirmed that the below still that was sent our way is actually from Pandorum, but you have to admit Norman Reedus' look is quite similar between the two projects. Well then. We feel much better. Better to have a false alarm than to have someone we all love go out like that!

The 2000′s: A Vital Decade in Horror Cinema (pt 2)

3 November 2012 10:47 PM, PDT | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

Special Mention: The Fake Trailers from Grindhouse (2007, USA): The four fake trailers featured in the otherwise disappointing Robert Rodriguez/Quentin Tarantino double-feature: Machete by Robert Rodriguez, Werewolf Women of the SS by Rob Zombie, Thanksgiving by Eli Roth and Don’t by Edgar Wright-are all very entertaining trips down horror/exploitation film memory lane and are easily the best part of the film.

****

2) Other Notable Horror Films Of The 2000’s:

This list focuses on films that are partially successful and even touch on brilliance at times but ultimately don’t pull everything together to fully deliver on their promise.

Intacto (Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, 2001, Spain):

This film about a group of people blessed with supernatural good luck has a great premise, several great scenes-the revelation of the plane crash early in the film, the blindfolded race through the trees and the Russian roulette climax-plus the welcome presence of »
