I'm honoring the late Richard Dawson by reviewing a "Family Feud" ep of his starting with "Love Boat vs. Eight Is Enough 2"
With yesterday the day Richard Dawson died, I thought I'd look at YouTube and watch one of his "Family Feud" shows. The one I'm reviewing is the second time he had the cast of "The Love Boat" (Gavin MacLeod, Fred Grandy, Lauren Tewes, Ted Lange, Bernie Kopell) against that of "Eight Is Enough" (Dick Van Patten, Lani O'Grady, Susan Richardson, Grant Goodeve, Laurie Walters). Among the survey questions was "Name a famous Italian singer" of which there was eight on the board. I was surprised that Dean Martin wasn't the first (or second or third) mentioned by any of the contestants. In fact, when Ms. O'Grady finally said him, she wasn't sure if he was or not! Richard made that humorous when he said "Do bears sleep in the woods?" I also liked it when Kopell did a Stan Laurel impression with Dawson doing the same thing. It's the "Love Boat" gang that won with Ms. Tewes and Grandy going for Fast Money. They didn't reach enough points for 200 but it was a nice try. I think I'll watch another one that also involves "The Love Boat" now...
