Storyline
Awesome and Ellie worry that Chuck is slipping away from a career again and urge him to complete his Priceton exams. Chuck is as startled as by his flash concerning nuclear terrorist Farrokh Bulsara when he asks for a gaming champion looking exactly like deadbeat Jeff. The team works out Jeff actually holds the world record for a game devised by Morimoto, who hid in it the secret to control a satellite capable of starting World war III. The only way to stop that is reaching the end screen. Written by

Trivia
In one scene, Sarah says Chuck is "gliding along, but beneath the surface, he's ... paddling away like crazy". This might be a reference to
Convoy, in which
Kris Kristofferson describes similarly how his character was nicknamed Rubber Duck.

This episode started off a bit slow, taking a bit of time get all the pieces in place for some great moves later on.
We open with our favorite Buy More drunkard Jeff being interviewed for winning a Missile Command contest. We don't know if this is just a dream or really happening, as Jeff (sporting a rockin' mullet) is flanked by two bikini clad babes; it seems to be an homage to the Spicoli surf contest dream sequence from Fast Times.
We flash back to present day Jeff trying to choose from many options in a vending machine. Morgan helps him with his choice, and Big Mike exhorts them to track down Chuck, who is late.
Cut to Chuck waking up late, still dressed as some Frenchman named "Francois" from his mission the previous night. He stuffs his false passport in a Converse shoe box. Is that in a CIA manual? Ultimately this all sets up an episode whose A plot deals with a satellite armed with nuclear missiles that some terrorists are trying to control and launch, thus starting WWIII. The B plot deals with an efficiency expert who has been brought in to the Buy More.
In addition, Ellie and Awesome continue to get more impatient about Chuck's reversion to pre-intersect behavior.
Mix all those ingredients together, and you get an episode that starts slow but builds to be truly enjoyable. Rush fans will love how it features the song in the episode's title, "Tom Sawyer." I snorted a soft drink when they began playing a song near and dear to my heart, "The Touch" by Stan Bush, one of a number of songs featured in the animated "Transformers the Movie."
After an episode with very little Sarah, we get treated to a very understated scene at the end between her and Chuck. A quiet moment to cap off a wild ride.
