The movie is set in 1953, yet when Anne (Renee) is seen walking through town just before her husband shows up at her apartment in L.A. There is a car parked on the side of the road with a modern (late 90's early 2000's) New Mexico License Plate. See more »
During the movie, we see Robbie doing cross stitch many times. At the end of the movie, we see Ann sitting in a chair, finishing the same cross stitch of their entire adventure, with "THE END." This goes right into the credits, which are done entirely in cross stitch. See more »
I loved this movie!! If you liked Julie and Julia you'll love this movie. Kevin Bacon was excellent as well as Renee and the kid actors. The supporting actors were suburb. Renee should be nominated for best actress of the year! Movie flowed well. Story seems familiar to another movie but worked. Mother catches band leader father cheating on her and in her mind determines that she does not love her. Takes the boys from city to city in search of a father and new husband. Love the towel the older brother is knitting and fact that he always gets the lead in the play but never gets to act in one. Also family in Midwest is great. Overall great movie. See it or rent it.
