It took me 3 episodes to get into it, 10 to really like it, 13 to get canceled., 14 August 2009
Author: dieBartdie from Austria

A comedy about a politically hyper-correct family by the creators of "Beavis & Butthead" and "King of the Hill". That alone should give you a good picture of what to expect.

The biggest problem with the show might be the pilot that gives you the impression that, once they run out of recycling-jokes, there might be little left. A few episodes in, however, you realize that there is a much more colorful cast of characters than you expected, which opens many possibilities.

It was probably the dog that did it for me. The family feeds him entirely vegan, which is obviously torture for a carnivore. Soon you see that he compensates by eating up nearly the entire neighborhood's pet population (indicated by walls full of "missing cat" posters). It's indicative of the subtle and darkly cynical parts of the show.

Once you get past the deliberately annoying voice acting of Gerald, the Goode family father and the rainbow of stereotypes characterizing the rest of the cast, you find a working and fun alternate-universe that exists almost entirely of environmentally conscious do-gooders. It is, both thematically and stylistically the opposite of "American Dad", a show I equally like.

Shame it was canceled before it even had the chance to grow an audience.
