Parking officers have feelings, too.
mike_cable13 September 2010
The first thing that's clear about Parking Wars is that the often-hated parking officers are individuals with wonderful sense of humours and personalities who are just doing their job. They deal with so many angry citizens who didn't follow the rules that they agreed to by obtaining a driver's licence and owning a motor vehicle.

It's a fair system designed to maintain order, but many citizens don't see it that way, they make up their own rules. This is where the television show gets interesting and we see many "victims" who try to talk their way out of a fine and usually end up personally insulting the parking officer or wasting hours of their important lives arguing about small details at the vehicle impound center.

People yell obscenities from the sidewalk as the clamping van slowly drives by, checking each car's plate for outstanding tickets, as if it's a game. The officers inside the van seem to love it and are never surprised when someone will come running out of a house with some ridiculous story about why the tickets haven't been paid. They've heard it all.

A very entertaining show and highly recommended.

Good and different reality series

I'm not much for reality type serials, but this one is pretty good. It's interesting the way people curse out and villainies the Philadelphia Parking Authority. (PPA) It really shows how clueless those folks that ignore simple rules like having insurance and a valid drivers license keeps everyone safe and secure. (somewhat) It get on my nerves a little bit when morons yell at the PPA officers who are just doing their jobs. I wonder if these dopes realize that if there were no parking rules, people would just double park and park in front of hydrants and emergency areas, park in handicapped spots, cars would clog already ridiculously overcrowded roadways. Think about that next time you yell at 1 of these officers!

I find the PPA officers on this show to be funny and interesting, the way each personality blends into the Philly scene. Particularly interesting is Garfield and Sherry, 2 Boot officers who have a great chemistry, and show what great teamwork they have feeding off each other.

Each and every PPA officer on this show almost is forced to learn psychology in order to deal with an angry and ignorant public. Some are really good at defusing a volatile situation and confrontation from a panicked ticket offender.

Give this show a look, its not too taxing on the brain, and has a good mix of humor sensitivity and a good picture of urban Philly life.

Addicted to this Show!

I find it somehow satisfying to see people having to deal with the results of their own bad behavior (a/k/a karma!). The featured parking enforcement officers usually have calm demeanors, cool heads and a HEART, and perform their jobs professionally despite being subjected to poor treatment by violators--my favorite PEOs are Lachelle & Marilyn. I can't say the same for some of the private tow truck drivers who express a little too much glee in towing cars, and sometimes appear to be inconsistent in how much they charge violators. The light-hearted graphics and sound effects add to the entertainment value.

regarding the tow truck drivers
johnbrandt-613696 December 2016
How come some of the tow truck drivers charge people $68 and in the same show they charge people that are nicer too them $136 I would think the fee should be the fee for everyone but i guess it depends what kind of day they're having which isn't fair.but I've never had a good experience with a tow truck driver not that i have eve been towed from private property. i even know some personally and they are pricks i guess you have to be to be a tow truck driver number 1 question on resume are you a prick! regarding the booting people saying they don't have the key's to remove a boot that only a boot remover can take a boot of but then in the next script I'll see the ones putting boots on take the boot off if there's a mistake or for a tow truck . i don't understand how there are so many discrepancies with the show!

It's one thing to get a ticket, it's another thing to dish out your life story and a hundred excuses. Also seems like 9 out of 10 people being ticketed or towed don't seem to have a job or are fortuitously not working that day. Maybe it's constructed that way for a drama effects.
