Tagline: "Come home to terror!" A trailer for Brian C. Weed's Bloody Homecoming was released early in 2012. Now, the film has been picked up by distributors Image Entertainment for a 2013 release. The film offers some similarities to Patrick Lussier's 2009 remake of My Bloody Valentine. In the story, a figure looms about a high school dance. Dressed and hidden in a fireman's suit, this character terrorizes several teens. This killer is motivated by revenge and few will survive, when the axe falls. Both My Bloody Valentine and Bloody Homecoming offer similar titles and costumes. This latest film hides a killer behind a mask, similar to the 2009 film. And, the victims in both films target teenagers. Horror fans will not have to wait long to see how Weed and writer Jake Helgren have paid homage to previous slasher films and filmites can preview Bloody Homecoming with the film's poster here and a trailer, »

Review: Lucky Bastard

29 March 2013 7:07 AM, PDT | shocktillyoudrop.com | See recent shocktillyoudrop news »

On paper, Lucky Bastard sounds like it could be a fun meta stab at the found footage horror genre. When you say “found footage porn horror,” you’d think you would at least have a little bit of fun watching it. I went in with literally zero background on the movie and it starts up with a pre-credit stating that for the sake of the movie, Lucky Bastard is a porno website where one watcher, the titular “lucky bastard,” is chosen to sleep with a porn star. This time around, the chosen viewer isn’t exactly all there. That is it. That is the entire premise of this movie.

Betsy Rue (My Bloody Valentine) plays Ashley Saint, a top tier porn star who has done every series under the website banner except for the Lucky Bastard portion. Her jackass boss Mike (played by movie everyman Don McManus) finally talks her »

Eight years after the release of the first movie, co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller are heading back to Sin City this year for the release of the long-awaited follow up Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Joining the cast of the sequel as gambler Johnny in the newly-created segment 'The Long Bad Night' is Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and the Looper and The Dark Knight Rises star took a moment to discuss the film with ComingSoon during SXSW this past weekend:

"It's interesting. They wanted to have a movie where fans of the books would still be able to look forward to something new and unexpected, so they added a story. I remember being really intrigued by that and I was really looking forward to, ‘Oh that will be so interesting to have the actual comics to refer to as an actor' but no I didn't... I had a ball doing that, »

Todd Farmer Talks My Bloody Valentine 2, Halloween 3D, The Monkey's Paw, and More!

14 February 2013 10:51 PM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Now that Valentine’s Day has passed, this writer must ask: How many of you horror fans celebrated by watching My Bloody Valentine 3D, the wickedly fun 2009 remake of the 80s slasher classic?

Given the nature of that film’s ending, have you ever wondered why a sequel has never materialized? To ring in this V-Day right, Dread caught up with MBV3D co-writer Todd Farmer to discuss the sequel-that-never-was.

Dread Central: My Bloody Valentine 3D opened over four years ago in early 2009, reportedly made on a budget of $15 million dollars. It went on to gross over $50 million domestically and over $100 million worldwide. That success, coupled with the sequel-friendly nature of the film’s conclusion, leads me to ask – where’s the sequel?!

Todd Farmer: I wish I knew! Patrick and I had a wonderful take. We pitched it a couple of weeks before MBV3D came out and everyone was excited. »

Where next for the Terminator franchise?

Feature James Peaty Feb 11, 2013

What does the future hold for the Terminator franchise, and how can it regain its early 90s success? James takes a closer look...

It’s been a tough few years if you’re a fan of The Terminator franchise. With the creative belly flop that was Terminator Salvation (2009) coming just a few months after the cancellation of TV spin-off, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, you’d have been forgiven for thinking the game was finally up for the once venerable series.

However, thanks to the bankruptcy of former rights holder, The Halcyon Company, and the deep pockets of producer Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures, the franchise now finds itself at a potentially interesting crossroads. Where once it was owned by a company overjoyed at hiring the dubious talents of director McG, now the franchise’s future is controlled by an outfit that has backed, in the space of a year, »

Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki Preview Tonight's Game-Changing 'Supernatural'

30 January 2013 11:32 AM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Spoiler Alert.

"Supernatural" is exploring time travel again -- and this time, it's personal (...again).

Ever since HuffPost TV broke the news that Gil McKinney would be guest starring as Sam and Dean's paternal grandfather, Henry Winchester, there's been speculation as to what role he might play in the show's mythology.

As fans may recall from Season 5's "My Bloody Valentine," there's a reason why John Winchester (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Mary Campbell (Samantha Smith) were destined to be together, which ties into the families' bloodlines. In Seasons 4 and 6, we got a look at the Campbell clan's involvement in the hunting world, but until now, we've seen very little about John's history.

That's about to change in "As Time Goes By," since -- as you can see in this week's Producer's Preview video -- Henry isn't entirely ignorant about the supernatural world.

HuffPost TV was on set for the filming »

Arnold Schwarzenegger Says He'll Return for Terminator 5

23 January 2013 4:02 AM, PST | WorstPreviews.com | See recent Worst Previews news »

While promoting "The Last Stand," Arnold Schwarzenegger was asked about some of his upcoming projects. The actor said that he's set to return for another "Conan" movie, a sequel to "Twins," and the fifth "Terminator" film. Schwarzenegger was attached to "Terminator 5" back when Justin Lin (Fast Five) was on board to direct. Since then Lin dropped out due to a scheduling conflict. Just recently Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island, Alexander) and Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine) have been brought on to write the script. And it turns out that Schwarzenegger is still on board. After "Terminator Salvation" underperformed at the box office, James Cameron said that future "Terminator" films must have Schwarzenegger in them if they want to be successful. Now word on whether Schwarzenegger will return to play T-800 or if the writers are coming up with a different role for him. »

Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirmed for Terminator 5

22 January 2013 7:00 PM, PST | Filmofilia | See recent Filmofilia news »

Terminator 5 finally showed new signs of life last week, with reports that a pair of screenwriters have been recruited by Oscar-nominated Zero Dark Thirty producer Megan Ellison.

Also, the T-800 himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, promises he’ll be appearing in the fifth Terminator installment, even amidst recent speculation about whether or not that remains the plan (not to mention, if that’s indeed a good idea).

Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine 3D) are currently putting together a Terminator 5 script for Ellison, nearly two years after the budding Hollywood power player purchased the Terminator franchise rights. Some of you have probably speculated that the plan is for T5 to return the series to its roots, by resurrecting the format of James Cameron’s original movie – which combines slasher/horror scenes with sci-fi pop action – and moving away from the mythos building that culminated in Terminator Salvation »

Rob Zombie Says He Won't Direct Halloween 3

22 January 2013 5:46 PM, PST | WorstPreviews.com | See recent Worst Previews news »

It's been over three years since we first heard that Rob Zombie will return for a third "Halloween" installment. Since then, there's been very little movement. And now, in a new interview, Zombie confirmed that he's done with the franchise. "I don't think they are doing anything with Halloween at the moment. That is the last thing that I heard," said Zombie, adding: "I'm definitely not directing it if they ever do go ahead with a third movie." Last April, it was reported that Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes company (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th) took over the "Halloween" franchise and were in talks with director Todd Farmer (Drive Angry) and writer Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine). Zombie's first "Halloween" film was released in 2007 and went on to gross $80 million globally. The sequel followed two years later, grossing only $39 million. »
